There is a lot of talk about changes in business,

Mostly from the perspective of what's working and what isn't,

And some big shifts in focus from well-known names.

Before looking at what those shifts are,

I wanted to put them into context.

Business is changing for a number of reasons.

The biggest is the changing collective consciousness.

Although it may not seem that there is positive change in our midst,

The polarization and division alongside extreme diversion from our norms is a response to the changing energetics and shifting consciousness.

When energies emerge,

They create instability,

And it is only through coming to terms with the differences that balance is found.

Generally,

Those who are more attuned to this feel it and adjust before it lands for the wider collective.

This can be hard because you're looking for anchors in your new norm,

And they don't exist yet.

They're in the process of being created,

And you're out there on a limb experiencing quite a different reality to others.

The energetics have been leading us away from many of the norms of the last few centuries,

Which have controlled and constrained individuality in favor of order.

It's been encouraging us to find our uniqueness again,

To live according to internal values and bring more suppressed qualities to the surface.

Energetically,

2025 was really focused on the rise of the self.

2026 is centered in acting from within,

Living by your values,

Being you in motion.

With this context,

We are seeing the business world reeling because individuals are increasingly refusing to be controlled by psychology and persuasion.

Critical thinking and discernment are rising.

Alongside this,

There has been a significant period of time in which many fell into psychology and got burned.

They put themselves behind investments that didn't work for them,

And their trust evaporated.

Many are referring to this as a trust recession,

But I think a better description is a discernment expansion.

Technologies have been emerging to support business functions for some time,

And they've changed how things work as well as what is possible.

They've shaped businesses on and offline,

Which has made it possible to have an international business from pretty much anywhere.

So most online businesses are now not fully anchored in one place.

And of course,

Technologies have morphed into AI,

Which is changing basic and advanced functions,

As well as sprinting into some of the more creative aspects.

Information which prior to AI was already overwhelming is now available to everyone instantly.

Every expert who's ever shared their knowledge through blogs or online resources has been blended into an instant solution to even the most complex of problems.

And this has all been happening with increasing disconnection from each other and from nature.

The lack of human connection in the business space is being felt.

The lack of real personal meaning is becoming obvious,

And the market is reacting.

The proliferation of AI content means that it's become hard to tell what is real or not.

So truth has become a currency,

And proving it has become critical because the market is too discerning to fall for it anymore.

So how is business changing?

There are two aspects of change impacting businesses moving forward.

The first is around the internal needs of entrepreneurs,

And the second is how the audience and the market is changing.

Let's start with you because you hold your business up.

The old narrative of hustle is falling apart,

But what do you put in its place?

The new dynamic is rhythmic and values-based.

Where before you might have fallen into the trap of pushing yourself to get out there,

Now it's more about how you want to show up.

Showing up is more important than ever,

But not necessarily as a way to sell primarily,

But as a way to connect.

Listen to your internal rhythms and respect them.

Life flows through cycles,

Not a constant state of energetic output.

Sometimes there is creating and sometimes there is receiving.

Being constantly on is energetically unsustainable.

It's going to burn you out.

Following rhythm matters to your long-term health and success.

When creativity hits,

Show up.

When it wanes,

It's okay to be quiet.

There are plenty of ways to put your business on autopilot while you take the time you need to soften and slow down.

The other internal aspect is your values.

Values are phenomenally important in business.

The bottom line dynamic has created harm in so many ways.

What is emerging in the market is a need for clear values,

And that starts with you working out what they are and then translating them into action.

Your values,

Operating practice and ethos need to be transparent because they give you clarity and they also give your audience an anchor.

The other thing that is important for your experience of business is how you talk to yourself about success.

Are you measuring your progress against old narratives or are you claiming your own interpretation of success that values the whole of you and your well-being?

The way society talks about success is a pressure.

The way you experience success is a release if it is supporting you.

Externally,

The changes you will feel relate to how your audience wants to be supported.

They have potentially been burnt investing large sums of money in support that got them nowhere and their trust levels are low.

That's not about you.

It's about society and behaviours that have created a dynamic where the client or customer is not the winner.

How can you meet them with truth and transparency?

Genuine solutions for well-being need to be on the table presented as a process of change rather than a magic wand.

We live in a society that rewards instantaneous outcomes,

Fast growth,

Superficial results.

That's not what people want.

They know it is a sticking plaster.

They may not know what the root of the problem is but you do.

They are not,

However,

Looking for more information or to be educated.

They want to be shown how to address the symptoms and the root cause.

Creating content that educates is simply going to defer a decision.

Creating content that offers a solution will lead to engagement.

A lot of big names are saying that courses are dead or that lead generators don't work,

That people don't want to hand out their emails anymore,

That information is no longer working.

That is their experience.

It is not universally true.

What's not working is the old playbook.

There's still a place for all the systems and structures if they help your audience.

That said,

Bite-sized experiences,

Microcourses,

Workshops,

Lead generators present a brilliant opportunity to do two things.

The first is to demonstrate your process and deeper understanding of the root of the problem and the second is to prove your approach to people so they are ready to buy.

And that's not about endlessly providing case studies of successful outcomes.

It's less about proof and more about the energy the results are wrapped up in.

That's the piece that's changed.

Your audience is using their discernment to see if they want to be in your world,

Not just get your results.

The internal shifts you make need to translate into the way you engage with your audience.

If you start showing up with values first,

You change the dominant narrative and give permission to your audience to think differently about themselves,

Their challenges and their outcomes.

It's been taught for as long as anyone can remember that to succeed in business you need to look at the market,

Find a gap and create for that gap.

That sidelines the most important thing you can offer.

You.

The impetus to create a business isn't about what people want and making money by doing that.

It's about how you can help them.

You as a unique person who has that weird and wonderful combination of strength,

Personality,

Energy and experience to offer them the exact lens they need to create change.

The aggressive push to scale,

Grow,

Increase,

Anything and everything is taxing energetically.

It's got no rhythm,

It's got no respect for human experiences or seasons,

No honesty about what's possible.

It treats humans as machines and they are done with that.

Show up for them as a human and they will feel okay to be human.

Show up as you and they will feel okay to be themselves.

That sort of honesty in the relationship is radical in the current picture.

So are you important to this new dynamic?

Absolutely.

Concepts of leadership are shifting.

What was once the exclusive domain of the strong,

Confident and loudest voices is morphing into different types of leading.

Quiet leadership will play a big role in the reshaping of business.

Businesses that are centered in sole purpose and grounded in truth don't use a playbook.

They create.

Each business subtly changes the overall picture until the baselines have shifted and those who weren't paying attention find themselves adrift.

You change the ground others walk on and they may not notice until they lose their footing.

It will absolutely get messy but quarter to quarter,

Year to year,

Generation to generation,

It's a process.

Some years,

2026 will most likely be one of them,

Change will happen fast and others slow.

Consider yourself both demolisher and cleanup crew just because you work differently.

Working in a different way,

Choosing your ethos as your guide moves the bar.

It changes the expectations of the market regarding what they're seeking.

It shows them that there is a different way to engage and experience.

The bottom line is that a small shift to a more positive experience of being an entrepreneur and of being a client is a signal you broadcast that says the way it used to be done is done.

I am choosing a different path and choosing to believe the change I am here to create will happen.

It starts with you,

Not the acceptable,

Comfortable version of you,

The real,

Raw,

Messy human you.
