Scary is necessary.
Sometimes in life,
We must allow ourselves to stand in the door,
The doorway of change,
With fear,
With uncertainty,
And with doubt of what's to come next.
Fully allowing ourselves to deeply and intimately immerse ourselves into the sea of surrender.
Knowing that the movement we've been taking is the same movement we've been praying for,
That we've been calling to in the middle of the night,
Not only with our words,
But with our bodies,
With our tears,
And with the unspoken language of our hearts.
Allow yourself,
Wherever you may be,
To find a comfortable seat.
Your seat of power,
Your seat of grace.
Begin to welcome yourself back into the temple you call your body.
Allow your left hand to make its way over your heart,
And gently guide your right palm to rest on your belly.
And we'll begin to take a few deep cleansing breaths of alignment here.
On the next exhale,
Begin to release all of the air out of your lungs.
Seal your lips,
And then breathe in slowly through your nose for the count of four.
Four,
Three,
Two.
Gently holding the breath at the top,
Softly part your lips,
And begin to release your breath out of your mouth for three,
Two.
And we'll do this a few more times,
Allowing our bodies and our minds to find rest.
On the next exhale,
Begin to release all of the air out of your lungs.
Seal your lips,
And slowly breathe in through your nose for three,
Two,
One.
Pausing at the top,
Allowing the breath here to gather and collect anything and everything that no longer serves you.
Part the lips,
And exhale out for three,
Two,
One.
Notice if there's any tightness in your shoulders,
In your jaw,
In your fingertips,
Or anywhere in your body.
And see if you can find softness here.
See if you can find ease.
We'll take our last few breaths together.
Exhale,
Release all of the air out of your lungs.
Seal your lips,
And deeply draw in the air through your nostrils for three,
Two,
And one.
Pausing at the top,
Part the lips,
And gently release the air out for three,
Two,
And one.
If we intend on growing and blooming into the best version of ourselves,
It is inevitable that we experience moments of sheer uncomfortability.
And allowing ourselves to fully experience and explore these emotions,
What we are conveying to the universe,
And more importantly,
To ourselves,
Simultaneously,
Is that we,
We fully and deeply trust ourselves,
That we aren't afraid to make mistakes.
Because in the perceived accidents of life,
In the moments that are sticky and uncomfortable,
And in the moments that we feel like we're being buried,
The truth,
My love,
Is that we are actually being planted.
That which isn't sown can't grow.
So allow yourself,
In those moments of uncomfortability,
Allow yourself to be planted and welcomed.
