You might like to begin the meditation by finding a position that works for you and your baby.
Letting go of the need to find that perfect position and just holding your body and your baby in whatever position resonates for you.
Beginning by becoming aware of the breath,
The in-breath and the out-breath and just noticing where you notice the breath the most.
Perhaps the cool air entering your nostrils and the warmer air exiting or perhaps you feel it more in the expansion and contraction of your chest or maybe in the rising and falling of your belly,
The sacred space where your baby is growing and just noticing how the breath is for you here.
With each inhale you might like to visualize your breath flowing through your body and flowing through to your baby.
On the in-breath sending warmth,
Love and oxygen to your little one and on the out-breath releasing any tension,
Perhaps further dropping your shoulders and allowing a sense of calm to relax you both,
Just spending a few moments here together in each other's presence.
You might notice your mind wander from time to time,
As minds so often do,
Perhaps bringing yourself some kindness and love,
Letting yourself know that it's okay for your mind to wander and then coming back to the present moment.
You might like to bring your attention now to your body and the contact it makes with the surface you're sitting or lying on,
As you and your baby are held here together by the earth and just noticing whatever you notice here,
Any sensations,
Coolness or warmth,
Any tightness or tension and while your awareness is here with your body,
Bringing your attention to your face,
Your brow,
Your eyes,
Your nose and your cheeks,
Your jaw and just feeling whatever the sensations are here for you now,
Moving down to your shoulders,
You might feel inclined to take a deep breath here in through your nose and as you exhale,
Relaxing your shoulders further if that resonates for you,
Noticing how this sense of ease also reaches your baby and as you begin to soften your body,
Feeling how your baby settles into this space with you,
Nurturing them through your presence and when you're ready,
Moving down to your belly,
You might feel inclined to place your hands on your belly here,
Perhaps noticing any coolness or warmth and as your hands meet your belly and your baby,
As if you're holding your baby in this gentle presence,
Just taking a moment here now to send some love,
Perhaps even sending a silent message of connection and kindness.
Moving on down your body to your legs,
Noticing any sensations here,
Perhaps any tightness or tension,
Any heaviness or lightness and just experiencing whatever you experience here and as you hold your attention on your legs,
You might like to acknowledge how they carry you and your baby through the day,
Perhaps bringing a sense of gratitude here,
You might like to extend this gratitude further to yourself for taking the time to practice here today,
To slow down,
To nurture yourself and connect with your baby and coming back to the contact your body makes with the surface you're sitting or lying on,
Feeling into this pressure,
Feeling your body here connecting with the earth,
You might like to slowly induce some movement in your hands and feet,
Perhaps swaying or rocking your body and when you're ready,
Gently opening your eyes and coming back.
