Hello and welcome to this guided meditation on the importance of showing up for yourself first,
Before anyone or anything else.
Every morning when I wake up,
I take time to sit and be with my breath before the busyness of my day kicks in.
Our breath is our anchor.
It is what brings us back into the present moment,
Time and time again.
It is there for us to come home to at any time.
There are times in life when we lose sight of our anchor,
When we get caught up in the busyness of the day to day,
And we feel like we're just tumbling along.
Well,
Today's meditation is for you to simply remind yourself of the importance of showing up for yourself first,
So that you can show up for others with compassion,
Kindness,
And love.
I'll invite you to find a comfortable seat with a long spine.
You can be seated in a chair,
A meditation cushion,
Whatever's comfortable for you.
Maybe you're simply on the floor or outside in nature on a beautiful piece of this floating rock we call earth.
Take a moment just to gently close your eyes and connect to your breath,
Your anchor.
Take an inhale breath through your nose and sigh it out the mouth.
Do it again.
Long,
Deep breath in.
Feel your belly,
Your low ribs,
And your upper chest expand.
And a slow,
Deep breath out your mouth,
Just sighing it out.
Do that three more times,
Just softening and settling and allowing for your breath to anchor you in as you show up for yourself.
And now just lightly seal your lips and allow for the inhales and exhales to be rhythmic and natural.
Just be a witness to the breath,
Becoming the observer,
Maintaining a long spine and soft shoulders.
The only thing that you need to be doing right now is breathing and being.
You've given yourself permission to show up for yourself.
Now is the time to simply be.
For the next few minutes,
You will just watch your breath on your own.
If you feel as if you're drifting off in thought or feel like you need to move around or do anything else,
Just come back to your anchor.
When it's time to end this meditation,
You'll hear the sound of some chimes.
But for now,
Just simply allow yourself this time for you to be.
You.
You.
You.
You.
You.
You.
You.
You.
You.
You.
You.
You.
Slowly begin to bring your awareness and attention back to the sound of my voice,
Back to the sounds around you.
Maybe offering a little bit of gentle movement of your fingers,
Gentle movements.
Of your toes.
Welcome to make circles with your hands or circles with your feet,
Whatever feels best for you.
Maybe even a gentle stretch as you.
Bring your arms over your head and just kind of stretch it out,
Reaching from your fingers to your toes.
If that feels good.
Just coming back here.
Just feel this little surge of gratitude come over the body as you've given yourself this gift of showing up.
Taking time.
And anchoring in.
For the rest of the beautiful day.
The more we show up for ourselves,
The more we are able to show up for others.
I hope you have a fantastic rest of your day today.
Thank you for meditating with me.
Peace.
