Welcome to day 12.

Let's take a moment to scan through your body and send some inner emails of relaxation.

Start with the feet.

Move up through the body,

Feel your calves,

Thighs,

Hips,

Belly,

Chest.

Invite all body parts to relax.

Your back,

Shoulders,

Arms,

Hands,

Neck,

Throat,

And face.

Remember that you're only sending an invitation to relax.

There's no need to force anything.

Just allow whatever you feel to be here right now.

If you notice any painful areas during your inner scan,

Try to stop there for a moment and just rest with your attention.

If you don't feel any pain at all,

Just let the following piece of advice sink in and help you when the time comes.

Often our pain increases a little bit when we focus on it,

But in the moment we stop fearing pain,

Something happens.

Pain has two parts,

The actual experience of pain and all the layers of thoughts and ideas and resistance we have about the pain.

Let's drop all these extra layers for a second and remember that pain itself cannot actually hurt you.

Pain is just a signal.

It's a messenger.

And you know what they say,

Don't kill the messenger.

The pain is not your enemy.

It's a package of information.

If your pain had a voice,

It would probably sound something like,

Excuse me,

Dear friend,

We are currently doing a restoration of this painful area.

Please don't mind us,

But be sure to move slowly so we can do our job properly.

Sometimes pain is a signal that we actually do need to fix something.

That's the kind of pain where you can't move and need to go to a medical professional.

However,

Many times the pain is coming from parts of the body that are already fixing themselves.

In other words,

The pain is a signal of healing.

In our culture,

We are unfortunately told that pain is the enemy.

We even try to kill the pain with our painkillers.

Let's try another method to become friends with the pain.

Whenever you feel pain,

Remind yourself that it's just a messenger.

What happens when you relate to pain in this way?

Maybe it actually changes into something else.

Tension,

Wobbling,

Throbbing energy.

It is just energy after all,

Communication going on in the nerves.

Now let go of everything else,

Even pain.

Let go of the pain.

Let go of the pain.

Let go of the pain.

Let go of the pain.

Let go of the pain.

Let go of the pain.

Let go of the pain.

Let go of the pain.

And simply feel the movements of the breath.

Breathing in,

Breathing out.

Congratulations!

You have finished day 12 and begun to find a friend in pain.

Thank you šŸ™šŸ¼ I woke up in the middle of the night ,feeling pain in my back and feet. This meditation helped me to breath through it and feel connected to the energy in my body . Instead of dread or fear , I can accept and breathe. Though I’m not quite sure I can quite call pain my friend .. I will try to be open to that concept. ā˜®ļø
