Hello,
Welcome to Peacebeam.
Step one,
Notice.
Just notice how you feel.
Take a few moments to tune into yourself and just hold that question.
How do I feel today?
Feel your emotions,
Your mood,
And if you feel tension in any part of your body now,
Just gently let that go and relax.
Step two,
Breathe.
So we're going to bring our attention now to our breath.
Just continue breathing normally and just watch your inhale and your exhale.
Allow yourself to feel their natural rhythm,
Their constancy.
And when you're ready,
Maybe just very gently extend your inhale and your exhale so that you're breathing a little deeper,
Easy and relaxed.
And as you feel some ease start to arrive in your body,
Just imagine that your breath is moving in and out of your heart.
Gently,
Rhythmically,
Your heart and your breath connecting and just be here for a few moments,
Breathing.
Step three,
Activate.
Today we are going to consider patience.
This is a strangely old fashioned word in our 21st century world.
We know it's a virtue,
But maybe in some other life when there is a little bit less to do,
When there aren't so many posts to post or blogs to read or pictures to take or lists to tick.
With our very packed schedules and the endless information coming in,
We don't really have time for patience because we think it will slow us down.
But consider this.
Patience is kindness in motion.
It is a gently powerful force that soothes frayed nerves,
Eases embarrassment,
Softens hard hearts,
Opens closed minds and keeps us tuned to our natural rhythms.
So allow yourself to be patient with yourself just for today.
Bring the kindness of patience into your life,
Into the voice in your head and feel its powerful rhythm in your being.
Step four,
Beam.
Patience is gentle power.
It is the space between notes,
The blanks between words,
The silence between your heartbeats.
So allow yourself to feel that energy and take that feeling,
That calm and intend for it to be for everybody's benefit today,
For yourself and for the people around you.
And to anchor the practice,
Whenever you feel the rush of impatience in a queue or in a conversation,
Smile and breathe and tell yourself that just for today,
You're making room for the power of patience.
Have a beautiful day.
