Hi,
Welcome to Peacebeam.
Let's begin.
So just make sure that you are sitting very comfortably or lying down very comfortably.
Make sure that you're warm enough and just close your eyes now and begin to follow my voice and relax.
As we move to step one,
Notice.
This is where you ask yourself the question,
How do I feel today?
And you just notice the answer that comes back.
How does it feel to be in your body today?
How does it feel to be you today?
And just notice the answer.
As we move to step two,
Breathe.
Just bring your attention now to your breathing.
Just like we were noticing how you feel,
Now we're going to notice our breath.
Just feel the air as it moves in and out through your nose or your mouth.
And if you like,
You can put your hand on your chest and start to feel the rhythm of its rise and its fall.
We often forget about our breathing,
Which is happening all the time,
Gently,
In the background.
And if we're feeling stressed or anxious during the day,
It's often really helpful to put your hand on your chest and just tune into your breathing.
And now I'd like you to imagine that every time you breathe in,
You're breathing in this beautiful golden light that moves all the way down into your lungs and then on into your heart.
And every time you breathe in,
Your heart,
The centre of your chest,
Glows golden.
And when you breathe out,
You breathe this beautiful light out into the world.
So just stay with that image of your beautiful golden breathing.
As we move to step three,
Activate.
And today,
We're going to think about words.
The words that we use can be really very powerful.
They can change how we feel about things.
They can change how we act.
And they can change how we think about ourselves or other people.
Words can also stick for a long time if we let them.
I'm sure that you can think of times when somebody has said something to you or about somebody that didn't make you feel good.
Repeating words can make them even more powerful.
In fact,
Scientists have discovered that things that we hear over and over again seem more true to us than things that we hear less often,
Even if the repeated words aren't true.
And this is why it's really important for us to use words about ourselves that make us feel good.
Sometimes we can develop a habit of talking about ourselves or speaking to ourselves in a way that is a little bit negative.
And the more often we repeat these things to ourselves,
The more likely we are to really believe them.
But the good news is that we can choose different words whenever we like.
So for example,
We might think,
I am really not good at this.
And you could replace that sentence with,
I am learning more and more every day.
Try to surround yourself with positive and uplifting words because these will help you to feel happier and more confident.
Pick a word now for today.
Something really lovely,
A word that you like.
And it can be any word at all,
So long as it makes you feel good.
It could be happiness or courage or joy or laughter.
And then let that word be something that you try to bring into your life throughout the day.
A really good idea is to choose a new positive word every morning,
Something that makes you feel happy,
Something that makes you feel confident.
And use that word and be that word as often as you can during a day.
So now that you have your word,
Let's move to step four,
Peace beam.
When we peace beam,
What we're doing is that we are wishing from the very bottom of our hearts,
Peace,
Happiness and joy for ourselves and for everybody that we meet.
So now that you have your lovely word for the day,
I want you to smile and imagine that that word has beautiful energy that is already starting to beam from you today.
Thank you for listening and we will see you the next time.
