Acknowleging pain can produce profound healing. Pain is a powerful teacher and accepting it, as challenging as it can be, creates space for release and peace. This meditation takes you on a body notice journey and an opportunity to have a conversation with pain that is presenting itself. Let's step into trust and allow the unfolding to flow now.

Close your eyes.

I invite you to either sit or lie down now.

Get comfy cozy and make any adjustments to feel supported.

And allow your body to relax.

Let's check in with the breath now.

Noticing your breath enter your body as you inhale.

Noticing your breath exit your body as you exhale.

Allowing the breath to naturally breathe your body.

I am now going to take you on an awareness journey through your body.

Begin to notice the bottoms of your feet.

Notice all toes.

Notice the tops of your feet.

The sides of your feet.

Both ankles.

Journeying up to your calves.

Shins.

Both knees.

Front of the thighs.

Back of the thighs.

Notice your left hip.

Right hip.

Both hips.

Noticing your low back.

Belly.

Mid back.

Heart space.

Upper back.

Shoulders.

Left arm.

Left palm.

Right arm.

Right palm.

Journeying up to your neck.

Face.

Sides of the head.

Back of the head.

Top of the head.

Feeling your entire body.

Entire body.

Entire body.

I now invite you to visualize sitting in a comfy chair.

You notice an empty chair across from you.

You are now going to invite the pain you feel in your body to have a seat in the empty chair across from you.

What does the pain look like?

Does it have a color?

A shape?

Notice how the pain is showing up.

Now have a conversation with the pain.

Tell the pain that you acknowledge it.

You know it's there to tell you something.

What does the pain have to say?

Honor whatever feelings come up for you.

Let tears flow if they're present.

Just be with it.

Breathe.

Take the time now to talk to the pain.

What do you want to say to it?

Don't force.

Let the conversation happen naturally.

Breathe.

It's okay.

Tell the pain it's okay to let go.

To dissipate.

To release.

Let it go.

Let it go.

Invite in a calm natural breath.

Exhale,

Let it go.

It is now time to leave the chair and come back to this room.

Inhale.

Exhale.

Inhaling.

Exhaling.

On your next inhale,

Begin to wiggle your fingers and toes.

Exhale.

On the next inhale,

Begin to gently open your eyes.

Exhale.

Notice how you feel.

May the journey you experienced today bring you harmonious support.

Peace be with you.

Works like a charm every time! Have used this primarily for physical pain, but my teenage daughter used this to help soothe a bad day at school - works beautifully for emotional pain as well. Thank you for the gift of this meditation, Charmaine. 🙏

What can I say: It worked! I’m just as surprised as confused.... I had been in pain for hours and I wasn’t even that focused... Just thank you 🙏

Thank you. This visualization is very helpful to me (as I’m dealing with a type of arthritis). It also made me smile having a “conversation” with my pain. I can return to this in my mind throughout the day to ease, not dwell, on my pain. Again, many thanks. Namaste. 🙏🏾
