Welcome to the walking meditation for three year olds.
Let's take a walk.
You can walk outside or inside for your walk.
Make sure you are with an adult.
We're going to start with three deep breaths.
Inhale through your nose and exhale through your mouth.
Inhale.
Exhale.
Inhale.
Exhale.
If you are ready,
Start walking.
First,
We're going to focus on what you're touching.
What are you touching?
Say your answer out loud to your parent or guardian.
Maybe you feel your feet in your shoes.
Heel,
Toe.
Heel,
Toe.
Maybe you feel the wind on your ears or in your hair.
Maybe you feel the clothes on your skin.
Now we're going to think about what you hear.
What do you hear?
Say your answer out loud to your parent or guardian.
Maybe you hear the wind in your ears.
Maybe you hear cars driving by.
Maybe you hear birds chirping.
Maybe you hear people talking.
Now we're going to think about what you smell.
What do you smell?
Say your answer out loud to your parent or guardian.
Maybe you don't smell anything,
And that's okay.
Maybe you smell food cooking.
Maybe you smell grass or flowers.
Now we're going to think about what you see.
What do you see?
Say your answer out loud to your parent or guardian.
If you're in the house,
You might see some of your household items or family members.
If you're outside,
You might see nature items like trees or man-made items like houses.
Finally,
We're going to think about what you taste.
What do you taste?
Say your answer out loud to your parent or guardian.
Do you taste anything at all?
Maybe you taste nothing,
And that's okay.
Maybe you're eating something.
Maybe you're thinking about food you had earlier,
And you taste that.
Now stop walking.
Put your hands over your heart.
Do you hear your heartbeat?
Do you feel anything in your body?
Say your answer out loud to your parent or guardian.
Maybe your eyes feel wide.
Maybe your hands feel tingly.
Maybe you feel rumble in your belly.
This is the end of the walking meditation.
Feel free to continue walking if you're having fun.
Thank you for listening to the 3-Year-Old Walking Meditation.
