Welcome to the infant walking meditation.
Parents to do walking meditation with an infant,
Take a walk with your infant.
If they're less than six months,
Hold them to your chest near your heart,
Allowing them to hear your heartbeat and breathing.
If they're older than six months,
They might prefer to be in a carrier facing outward or even in a stroller.
Let's go on a walk.
While you're walking with your child,
You'll be describing what your child experiences.
This will help them to build their language throughout their experiences.
Step step step.
Ask your child,
Do you feel my steps?
Now describe what your child may feel.
You feel step step step.
Ask your child,
Do you smell something as we make more steps?
Now describe what your child may smell.
You smell step step step.
Ask your child,
Do you hear something as we make more steps?
Now describe what your child may hear.
You hear step step step.
Ask your child,
Do you see something as we make more steps?
Now describe what your child may see.
You see step step step.
Ask your child,
Do you taste something as we make more steps?
Now describe what your child may taste.
You may taste.
Feel free to continue this walk with your child,
Adding to their language as you continue this walk and describe what they may experience.
This is essentially the beginning of their connection between the world and themselves.
This meditation will bring you both in the present moment and stimulate your infant.
Have fun.
