Connect to the Akashic Field - Part 2 - Practice
by Paul Carlos
Use this guided practice to align a deep meditation state. The purpose here is not to enter the Akashic Records but rather to access the wider field of Akasha - an aspect of Great Spirit. This meditation may help to bring peace and a deeper connection and understanding of one's own greater self beyond our physical, social person level. Please be sure to listen to Part 1 which covers the introduction and essential preparation. Namaste.

Hi there,
Paul Collos here,
Sacred Spiral Yoga.
Today's contemplative meditation is part two of a protocol allowing us to access the great field of Akash.
If you have not gone through part one,
I would urge you to do so as a lot of essential background information is offered in that part one course.
Furthermore,
You may want to refer to my free offers on basic breathing practice here on my Insight Timer profile.
And also I'm about to publish a course on Sacred Spiral breathing practice.
So please look out for those as well.
So for the practice today,
I would recommend lying on a bed or sofa to be warm and comfortable.
Make sure you're undisturbed for at least 45 minutes.
Settle in for a few moments and take some calming centering breaths.
In a smile is a great practice,
Just smiling with your eyes and mouth to yourself.
This really does help release the nervous system,
Relaxes the face.
Pay a lot of attention to your eyes and temples,
Making your eyes soft with a feeling of innocence.
So right from the beginning now,
It's a good idea to set an intention that you will reach the place in consciousness that will be most beneficial for you right now.
And that you will gain the insight and wisdom most required for your current needs.
As part of that intention,
You can ask for guidance and assistance from a higher mind,
So to speak.
Use whatever is most comfortable and relatable for you.
For some folk,
This will be the concept of a higher self.
For others,
The idea of personal guide.
Perhaps even archangels,
Source energy,
God,
And so on.
Remember that you will not receive rationalized answers,
Rather the silent and direct knowing that arises from our heart.
Some folk may see images in a dream sequence.
Especially if you reach and dwell in the zone of awareness,
Where hypnagogic and hypnopompic scenes arise,
Those are the twilight zones between full wakefulness and full sleeping state.
Hypnagogia and dream images will always be symbolic,
So some form of dream and symbol interpretation is very useful.
Personally,
I prefer to keep things as simple as possible and rely on intuition arising in the heart to help decipher the symbols.
You may want to have a journal handy and write some notes for yourself after the meditation.
You will need to pay close attention to subtle feelings that may be rising and falling in the background of our awareness,
So to say.
It's good to revisit your question and intention from time to time in a very casual way through the process of the meditation.
So to calm and settle ourselves further now,
Let's carry on breathing gently and softly.
Relax the shoulders,
Face,
Arms,
And legs.
We're going to take our attention just outside the physical body.
I'd like us to feel the space,
Just a foot or so around the body.
Start with the head and shoulders.
What does this seemingly empty area feel like?
Imagine that you could somehow be in this space and look back at your body.
See your hair on the back of your head,
Your skin.
Move on to your arms and hands and do the same thing.
What do your clothes look like from this remote view?
Do you appear calm,
Peaceful,
Relaxed,
Still?
How do your legs and feet look from a distance away?
How does the space feel around your body?
So looking and feeling from various angles and places,
Getting different views of your body.
So now we'll leave that practice and change the focus.
First,
Let's just enjoy the sensation of resting.
Be in peace and harmony right here,
Right now,
In present-minded awareness.
Savor this rare quality that we seldom give ourselves the opportunity to experience.
Be slow in moving your attention and be watchful.
Simply observing everything.
It's really important to suspend all judgment and analysis for now.
Just to be an impassive,
Neutral watcher for the time being.
Carrying on a little now,
We're going to turn our attention away from our body and in a slow,
Lazy manner dwell for a moment on all the many countries of the world.
All the many cultures and peoples across the globe,
Each so involved with their own situation and condition.
Think for a moment on all the multitudes of varying physical forms of the world.
From the natural world with oceans and continents,
To mountains and forests and jungles.
From cities and villages,
To deserts and barren places.
Think of our magnificent sun,
The center of our solar system.
Think of the other planets such as Mars and Mercury,
Jupiter and Saturn and the others.
All of these many,
Many items represent materialized form.
Think of the life forms such as insects and birds,
Fish and sea creatures,
Mammals and reptiles.
Think of the plant and mineral kingdoms and more.
In ancient times this everything would be termed the 10,
000 things rising and falling,
Coming and going.
This is manifested,
Materia,
The world of seemingly solid objects,
Both organic and inorganic.
Yet know that so to speak beneath each and every form,
From smallest to largest,
There exists an invisible blueprint,
A resonant energetic signature pattern,
A so-called empty vacuum of formlessness.
This existing as it were in the field of all potentialities,
Stationary,
Infinite and eternal in nature.
As we become more and more still,
Feeling a pleasant heaviness overcoming our body,
Mind and emotions,
We are going to explore two very different kinds of feelings,
Modes of awareness.
First of all,
Realize that you can cast your attention anywhere that you wish to.
It's a bit like an inner eye that you can focus on things even though your physical eyes are closed.
Let's try this a little bit.
In your mind's eye,
Look at something very familiar,
Perhaps pleasant,
Say your phone for example.
See the color,
The shape,
The familiar screen and so on.
Imagine holding it,
Feel the weight and the smoothness.
How do you think and feel about this object?
You can practice with any object or even a person and become really familiar with looking at things with your inner gaze,
Inner attention.
Always check your feelings but without judgment of any kind,
Just neutral observation.
You can also practice with really large objects and scenes,
For example our beautiful Earth or our entire solar system.
Try to visualize with as much detail as possible.
Use your five senses,
Sight,
Sound and scent,
Taste and touch.
Let's try that for a moment.
Imagine you were just outside the Earth's atmosphere,
Drifting in orbit.
The view of our magnificent planet would be spectacular.
The vivid colors of ocean blue,
White clouds and green forests and jungles.
Getting deeply engrossed in such reverie,
We start forgetting about our body and maybe even our situation for a brief time.
Looking at an object implies a sense of separateness.
I as a separate being am looking at an object which is a separate item among millions of other separate items.
This applies whether we are observing an ant,
An apple or a planet,
A phone,
A person or an elephant.
In truth we do this all day,
All the time as we view the contents of our reality around us.
We feel that we are separate and everything around us is also distinct and separate.
We name all items in order to be able to speak about them,
Think and analyze.
So now we're going to leave that and explore another quite different mode of awareness.
Remember spirit or Akash is a unified field.
At this level of awareness there is no separation.
We have all watched movies and attended live theater,
Even music performances.
Many folk have done a little bit of acting at some time in their lives.
As children we all played games,
We role-played of all sorts,
Maybe cowboys and crooks,
Pirates and dragons.
So acting as someone or something is really very familiar to all of us.
Perhaps your role was the dragon or sea monster.
Perhaps you loved or hated a role you had to play in the annual school production.
In acting we take on the identity of the character.
So realize that there's a huge difference between looking at something which implies a subject,
Object and an observer.
And in this new case identifying and being the thing observed.
If that thing is a dragon,
Now I am a fiery breathing dragon.
We use our imagination,
Change our dominion,
Voice,
Thoughts,
Everything really.
I am the dragon in real present time now.
So let's do a little bit of exactly that.
We'll perhaps leave the dragon for another time.
For this purpose let's take a good friend,
Preferably someone very well known and close.
First look at this person for a while.
What activities may they currently be doing?
See them busy in your mind's eye for a moment as if you were a fly on the wall.
So now we're going to switch.
Instead of just looking I want us to become our friend.
Imagine just for a brief time that you are your friend involved in the activity.
Try and catch the dramatic difference in feeling that comes.
Our perspective has radically changed.
If you know this person well,
As I am suggesting,
What thoughts may I now be thinking?
What feelings felt,
Actions taken and so on.
The important point here is the swapping of identity in decision,
Feeling,
Thought,
Action.
This offers us a very tangible change in awareness that is highly useful when engaged wisely.
Let's leave this scenario now and relax even more deeply.
We'll dwell on the vastness of the earth again.
View our magnificent blue planet as if from nearby space.
We're looking at our planet.
See the incredible blue and white and green land masses.
What does it feel like to hold such a magnificent view?
What about changing perspective again and revisit the view of the whole solar system?
What does this gigantic view feel like?
Realize that you are looking at the view separate.
Can we be audacious and suddenly change and become this huge scene of planets and sun and moons and asteroids and even more?
Try for a moment.
What does it feel like?
Even if we struggle a little,
This feeling is a big secret.
Hidden in plain sight key that will open the door to other states of awareness and realities.
So now we'll move even deeper and from this vast feeling of being our object,
Subject,
Object and observer all merged.
Samadhi in yoga.
Recall our discussion on Akash.
Our purpose is to reach this field in awareness.
The formless emptiness beneath all materialized form.
Can you dissolve the views and the feeling sense of being all materialized form and slip to the other side of the coin,
So to speak,
And be formlessness,
Be emptiness,
Be the Akashic field itself.
Say faintly in your mind,
I am this all powerful Akash.
Identify fully with the great spirit that gives rise to all etheric forms.
What does this extravagant experiment feel like?
Any feelings rising are valuable.
Ever so gently now we'll introduce a color into our field of inner awareness.
Visualize a deep glittering purple violet mist beginning to form and swirl,
Growing and filling our field of awareness.
This deep glittering purple violet color is associated with the Akasha and is very helpful in this deep alignment.
We can introduce the faint sound of the OM mantra vibrating as if far in the background.
Both color and sound gradually swell to a great volume and engulf any last sense of separateness we may have had.
Dwell in this majestic state of sound and light and color,
Vibrating consciousness of being formlessness,
Being the Akasha.
The sound and the color will peak and then gradually slowly begin to diminish,
Slowly beginning to recede,
Fading away and eventually dying down to utter silence.
Ancient infinite stillness.
We're left with a sense of silent knowing that I am all that is.
This is a perfected matching of our consciousness with the ultimate creator consciousness.
The light of awareness that gave rise to all other light,
The limitless light.
Now ever so faintly and gently recall your question,
Your original intent.
Just faintly brushing your mind over this purpose.
Any stronger action or emotion will push you out of the state of mind of unity with the ether,
The Akasha.
Dwell here for a few short moments and then release your intent again.
Be in an open and receptive listening mode as you sink even deeper into silence,
Emptiness and stillness.
I will leave us now to have a chance to be in this deep state.
Do not look for answers.
Do not try to change anything.
Simply be in this condition of divine union beyond words and thoughts.
I'll pick us up later to guide us out of this deep meditation.
Ever so gently and slowly begin to return your awareness to your body.
See your body lying warm and comfortable,
Maybe sleeping peacefully.
Slowly coming a little closer,
Notice your breathing.
Easy,
Calm,
Gentle.
Notice the peace and quietness of your physical body.
I'll let us slip gently and silently back into the body and focus on the breath flowing in and out.
Slow and comfortable.
When you feel ready,
Engage this breath,
Guide it,
Adjust a little.
Let's deepen the intake to draw fresh energy and vitality.
Take your time.
When you're ready,
Slowly stretch and wake your body up fully,
Returning to full normal waking awareness.
At this point,
You may want to write in your journal quite soon before doing anything else.
We should know that you can return and should return to this meditative state any time that we need to.
Practice often so that the state becomes familiar and easy to align.
I'd like to thank you all for joining and engaging with me in this deep Akashic alignment.
I trust this has been helpful and that your practice will deepen over time and that you will reach and that you will reap a rich harvest.
I will see you all soon for the next meditation or sacred music.
Thank you.
Have a lovely day.
Namaste.
