When we are in heightened states and struggling, we can offer ourselves some compassion and support simply by using our breath and touch to calm the nervous system. We begin with connecting with the breath and then move to observe physical sensations present in the body. From there we'll begin to support ourselves by placing our hands on specific places on the body to soothe and support ourselves while encouraging safety and comfort.
