Hello and welcome to this guided meditation.
We will begin finding a seat or another posture that feels good for you in this moment.
There is no need to search for a rigid meditation pose with your spine straight or anything.
You can,
If you wish to,
You can sit on the floor with your legs crossed,
Reaching your head to the sky,
Or you can just as well relax in a soft armchair,
Or maybe even lay down on the bed.
And for this meditation,
I wish you would allow yourself to be comfortable,
As comfortable as is possible for you in this moment,
Trusting that you will choose what is right for you.
Oftentimes,
We get in our own way,
Trying to meditate and do it right,
Instead of just inviting in a curious awareness of what is present.
And as you begin to find your way into a seat or another posture,
Begin to notice your breathing.
Without any need to control your breath and make it a certain way,
Allow your breath to flow as it naturally does now.
And notice how it moves in you,
As you.
Maybe your chest and tummy rises with the in-breath,
And maybe as your lungs empty on the out-breath,
So does your stomach and chest pull.
Maybe the breath stays on the chest,
And maybe it reaches to the low,
Low abdomen,
Or something in between.
That is all alright,
Just be a witness of your own breath in this moment.
Maybe there is tightness around the breath somewhere in the body.
Tightness that is saying,
Oh,
Don't come here.
And see if you can simply allow that to be there as well,
As a part of the experience of breathing in and out.
The deepest yearning within us all is the need,
The wish,
To simply be allowed to be who we are,
As we are.
And in this meditation,
I invite you to be curious of what that means to you right now.
What is asking within you to be allowed to be as it is,
As your breath rises and falls?
See how would that feel if instead of travelling up and down,
The breath would simply flow in all directions,
Expanding your presence,
And then with the inhale,
Gathering the presence back,
And once more with the exhale,
Allowing presence to expand through all of your pores,
Into all directions.
Simply bring awareness to that possibility,
That the breath might travel in all directions through your skin,
While it also moves up and down,
In and out through your mouth and nose.
As the breath travels in all directions,
Is there a limit that it reaches before it returns?
And when it returns,
Where does it return to?
Does the breath have a boundary?
Does the awareness of breath have a boundary somewhere?
And instead of searching for that boundary,
Is it possible to allow this question to simply move within the breath,
Creating space for awareness in the space within which the breath moves?
Within this breath and space,
You might sense your body,
Emotions,
Maybe sounds from your surroundings or from within your body,
As it pumps blood and digests food.
This complex system that invites in breath and allows it to leave as well after visiting.
Is it possible to allow the breath to move freely as a feather on a summer sky?
Your precious body holding space for the sacred breath,
The white feather on a summer sky,
Witnessing the beauty of its dance,
Connectedness.
Whatever happens or is present in the sacred temple of your body,
This divine feather of your breath makes home,
Inhabits the temple without judgment,
Joyously celebrating the opportunity to be housed,
The sacred mission of your beautiful body,
Of carrying the divine breath,
Is the highest purpose,
A beautiful act of love.
The temple loves the feather and the feather loves the temple.
And in their connection,
Heaven on earth is alive.
You might place your hands on your chest now,
Pressing lightly so that you feel the warmth of your hands on your chest.
And maybe you can visualize this white feather on a clear blue summer sky within your chest,
The divine breath moving in your temple.
And as you move on to your day,
You will carry this image within,
Hopefully bringing a lightness of step and a sense of sacred mission however you spend your day.
Whatever you do and wherever you go,
Whoever you're with,
You are fulfilling your purpose of carrying that sacred breath here on earth.
Now bring your hands together and rub them a bit to create some friction and warmth.
Maybe wiggle your toes a bit and you might want to glide your hands on your body,
Touching your skin to enliven the presence within your body.
On this earth.
Open your eyes to take in your surroundings,
Moving as that temple with a feather into your day.
Thank you for joining me in this meditation.
I hope it brought a sense of ease to you.
Thank you.
