Hello dear friend,

Pasha Lindy here.

And today we'll be using our practice to call in a soul friend or a muse.

Sometimes it can be really useful to summon up support with what we're doing.

If it's creativity,

We might call on our muse who's a kind of divine inspiration for us.

And this could be somebody that we've met from real life,

Or it could be some kind of deity,

God or goddess or divine quality that you'd like to bring into your artistic work.

And as for your soul friend,

Well,

Soul friend is an old Irish expression,

Anamkara,

Meaning someone you can really trust.

Someone who can hear your heart and know your soul.

Someone you can be truly yourself with.

And some of us have friends in our lives who feel like soul friends.

A real person who feels like kin.

And sometimes we might have a soul friend that we haven't actually met,

But who we can imagine being really with us and really understanding us.

I discovered the work of the poet John O'Donoghue,

Who wrote a book called Anamkara,

Soul Friend,

Long after John O'Donoghue had passed.

But to me,

He still feels like a soul friend.

He still feels like somebody I call upon for support.

When I read his writing and poetry,

I feel like understood somehow and loved somehow by his work.

So,

A muse or a soul friend?

What do you need today?

Do you prefer to call in a soul friend or a muse?

And it could be that that figure is the same as both the soul friend and the muse.

Just take a moment to reflect on what it is you're needing today and make that choice.

So,

Having chosen,

Let's begin.

Settling in.

Taking a moment to bring your attention to your body.

Feel your posture.

Feel the contact between yourself and whatever it is you're resting on,

Your chair or your bed or the grass.

Feeling the earth underneath you,

Supporting you.

And then letting your spine be tall as you breathe in.

But inviting all the muscles of the body to become heavy and relaxed.

Now,

Imagine you're taking a walk in a beautiful place.

Maybe it's a field of wheat in the sunshine.

Maybe it's a beautiful garden full of all kinds of delicious scents.

Where would you like to walk?

Somewhere you feel safe and content.

Maybe a heavenly realm.

Bringing that to mind and letting yourself really be there.

So using your senses,

What do you see there?

What do you feel there?

Can you touch anything?

Is there warm sunlight or a soft breeze on your skin?

And what do you smell there?

Are there sweet flowers?

This place of beauty is safe.

Comforting.

And in a moment you're going to be joined by that special being.

Your soul friend or muse.

So who is it coming to your mind and heart?

Picturing them with you as best you can.

This being might be a friend,

A colleague,

Family member,

Role model or mentor.

Or your soul friend or muse might be somebody you've never met but a famous writer or artist or sports personality.

Or spiritual being,

Divine quality.

Certainly this is someone you admire and look up to and feel a very strong connection with.

And if you find you have lots of different choices,

Just choose one for now to hold in mind.

And imagining them there,

What they look like.

What their voice sounds like.

How do they greet you?

Do they greet you with a smile?

A handshake?

A warm embrace?

Rest for a moment.

Rest for a moment.

In the joy of being with your soul friend or muse.

So here you are,

The both of you,

Smiling together.

And take some deep breaths and breathe in that feeling of being loved and known and seen and heard.

And breathe out feelings of love for your muse or soul friend.

Your offering to them.

So breathing in love and breathing out love.

Resting in this flow of love,

The love of two soul friends.

Or resting in the respect between muse and artist.

Between mentor and mentee.

And if you like,

You might want to ask your muse or soul friend about something.

Or share something with them.

Maybe something that's on your heart.

Maybe you'd like their support with something.

Perhaps help with a project.

So what do you long to share with your soul friend or muse?

Ask away.

And see what the response is.

And take a moment to really let that comfort,

Reassurance and support sink in.

This kind response from your soul friend.

What a gift.

Do they want to give you something?

Another gift perhaps?

And how do you thank them?

Is it with a hug,

A handshake,

A smile?

So in a moment,

It's time to leave.

But we can bring these gifts back with us.

And if you wish,

You could invite your soul friend or muse to stick around with you today.

So up to you,

Inviting them into your day or bidding them thanks and goodbye.

Perhaps they'll be standing behind your shoulder today.

And if not,

Just know that they're always there,

Always ready to hear your call.

If you choose to stop and call on them.

And as you come to the end of the practice now,

Noticing how you feel.

And enjoying any of the fruits of your practice.

Like any feelings of well-being,

Warmth,

Love,

Connection or calm.

This is your inner goodness coming online.

And you can trust this place in you.

Much love,

Dear one.

Until next time.
