Hi,
This is Padma Gordon and this is Living from the Heart.
So today I want to offer you a meditation to support you in finding freedom from anxiety.
We're in a very strange kind of upside down moment in our world and anxiety levels can run high.
So how to be free from anxiety?
What I've come to is be tethered to goodness.
Be tethered to goodness.
And so this meditation is in service of really supporting you to drop down and in and recognize,
Have your awareness open for what is good,
What is good and what supports you,
What makes you smile.
So please make yourself comfortable.
You can put your body in any position that feels good.
That's right.
Just taking some nice deep breaths.
Just gently letting the eyes close.
Let your eyes close.
Let yourself begin to settle.
That's right.
Let yourself begin to settle.
You can feel so good to let yourself sink into your seat.
Breathing one breath at a time.
One breath at a time.
Breath is your ally.
It's happening right here,
Right now.
So throughout this meditation and throughout your day,
I would like to invite you to return to your breath.
Return to your breath.
And just notice,
Notice this present moment.
This present moment.
It's a good moment to come home to yourself and rest.
Come home to yourself and rest.
Relax and let go.
And I invite you to rest into the empty spaces between my words.
And just notice how by breathing and slowing down,
Perhaps the mind can quiet down.
As the body settles,
So too the mind becomes quiet.
And the more you take the time to be quiet,
Close your eyes,
Rest.
Rest inside.
The more you are creating these pathways,
These neural pathways,
To peace.
Just breathing and settling.
Because I know,
I know how the mind can wander,
Can worry,
Can travel into the future.
Dreaming of everything that can happen and might happen.
And so if you are aware of your mind in any way,
Drifting into the future,
You can just gently,
With kindness,
Invite it back here.
Back into this open,
Peaceful space.
Allowing yourself to remind yourself of what is good,
Of what is good in your life and in this world.
What is something that delights you,
That makes you smile?
Maybe it's the clear blue sky or the radiant spring flowers,
A family member,
A friend,
Or a pet,
A soft pet that curls up in your lap.
Or that you bury your nose in,
Inhaling the scent of their fur.
Noticing what it is that brings a smile to your face.
Noticing what is good,
What is beautiful.
Maybe it's a sweet and delicious piece of fruit,
A ripe strawberry,
A crisp apple,
Or anything else that delights your palate.
So as you imagine and notice these things that are good,
The goodness in your world,
You're filling your tank,
You're resourcing yourself so that in any moment you can return to this pleasant image,
This pleasant thought.
Feeling the smile as it crosses your face and perhaps how your whole body and being are smiling.
And now feel how you're held from underneath by where your body is resting and by Mother Earth.
And let yourself sink in to the next level of relaxation,
Of peace.
Allowing this to happen with ease.
And each time you listen to this guided meditation practice,
Everything that's said and heard goes deeper,
Deeper inside so that it is alive in you and you can tap into it in any moment.
In a moment where a wave of fear or anxiety may arise,
You can come back to this place of peace.
Come back to the feeling of the smile crossing your face.
Come back to the warmth of your pet,
To the twinkling eyes of someone you love.
And you can rest deep inside,
Knowing that you are more deeply resourced,
Tethered to goodness as we navigate the unknown together.
We're in this together.
Very gently,
I'd like you to come back slowly,
Slowly.
Feeling your heart beat,
The touch of the air on your skin,
And thanking yourself for taking this time to meditate,
To be silent,
To drink in the goodness of your life.
So take time,
Take time each day to luxuriate in the goodness.
Fill your cup with goodness.
Goodness is nourishment for your heart and your soul.
Thank you for being here.
Thank you.
