Welcome.
Welcome to this meditation.
Welcome to this meditation on how to embrace your humanity,
How to embrace your own humanity,
Which is what's needed to embrace the humanity that you live in the midst of.
So I invite you to get really comfortable,
To find a place away from distraction,
And to make your body really comfortable.
Make your body comfortable.
Take your time.
Take your time letting the body settle,
Preferably lying down in a quiet space somewhere,
And breathing.
Breath is one of our greatest allies.
So just breathing,
Letting go,
Noticing your body's response to some intentional,
Generous breathing.
Taking this time for yourself to relax and to welcome all parts of you,
Beginning by allowing your attention to drop down and down,
Deep inside,
Feeling the weight of your bones,
These bones that support you,
That hold you.
Just for right now,
Relaxing all the way to your bones,
Relaxing down and down.
Letting go.
Letting go.
Feeling your heart your whole chest cavity rising and falling,
Rising and falling as you breathe.
And if any thoughts appear about what came before and what will come after,
You can just let them go,
Trusting that if there is anything important,
It will resurface at just the right moment.
Because now is your time to drop in,
To breathe and relax because it's in a state of deep relaxation,
Deep meditative relaxation that things can change.
Let you become more and more aware,
More compassionate,
Generous and kind,
More accepting of your own humanity so I'd like you right now to bring up a situation in which you reacted.
Perhaps you didn't show your best self.
Maybe it was something small,
Where you just made a sharp comment or were snippy with someone that you love and care for.
And just notice as you sense that moment,
What happens in your body?
Perhaps there's some tension or contraction somewhere.
Maybe you're scrunching up your eyebrows,
Clenching the jaw or feeling tension somewhere in your belly.
What I'd like you to do is I'd like you to take a big breath and send loving acceptance and embrace to this part of you,
The part that reacted,
Maybe was unkind for a moment.
And what if you tend to that part,
Embrace it,
Loving it as it is,
As you are right now.
Just noticing,
Noticing what's needed.
How do you tend to this part?
Maybe it's with a loving embrace.
Your older,
Wiser self offers this younger self an embrace.
Or maybe you can allow a stream of gold and light to flow from your heart to theirs.
Gold and light,
A river of gold and light flowing from heart to heart.
Or maybe there's a phrase that you want to whisper to that part of yourself,
Letting them know that they are loved and cared for.
Words of loving kindness can go a very long way.
And you can trust whatever is arising as you tend to this part of yourself.
