Welcome.
Welcome to Living From the Heart.
This meditation focuses on growing generosity.
Generosity grows from gratitude.
So during the meditation,
I will ask you what it is that you are grateful for.
Recently,
I found a sign,
A wooden sign,
And printed on it,
It says,
Gratitude changes everything.
It sits on my window sill as a reminder,
As a reminder of the power of gratitude to shift and change all things,
And of the power of gratitude to birth your generous heart.
When I feel gratitude in my heart,
It softens and opens.
When it's open and at ease,
Generosity flows naturally.
So let's begin this gentle meditation.
Please find yourself in a comfortable seat where your spine is long and relaxed.
If your eyes are still open,
I invite you to please close them now.
Let them rest and take a nice,
Full breath.
And another.
With each breath,
Feel how your body responds.
Feel how your body responds and begins to let go.
Maybe your shoulders soften.
Maybe you can feel your breath expand as your chest widens.
Whatever you're noticing is a signal to let go.
Let your body relax.
Let your mind relax.
You're taking this sacred time for yourself.
Doing this meditation is an act of generosity from you to your own heart.
So simply continue to let go.
Let go into the space.
Let go of everything that came before and everything that will come after.
Let go and surrender into this moment.
Take another breath.
Let your jaw be soft.
Maybe your mouth is even slightly open.
Let go.
Allow yourself to release,
To be here.
In the generosity of this moment,
Just breathing with ease.
Breathing with ease.
And now I invite you to sense the space in front of you.
That vast,
Open space.
Sense the space and notice how far it goes.
Take your time.
Be generous with yourself.
And then very gently soften your eyes.
Soften them.
Let them relax.
Letting your eyes relax into their sockets.
Releasing any pressure or any tension that may be there from all the hard work you do.
Just the act of letting your eyes relax is an act of sweet generosity.
Continue to breathe and let go.
Let go.
Sensing the space in front of you and the space inside of you.
Pause here.
Let your awareness expand out and out and in and in.
Feel how the space welcomes you,
Holds you.
Sense its generosity.
How abundant it is.
How infinite it is.
Taking another full breath.
Softening,
Releasing.
And from the space deep inside,
I offer this question to you.
What is it that you are grateful for in your life?
It may be something very small,
Like the softness of the blanket on your bed or the warm water that consistently comes out of the faucet when you turn it on.
Maybe it's a person.
Someone you are close to.
Or someone you don't know well.
Or perhaps it's a pet.
It could be anyone or anything.
Anything at all.
So I invite you to let an image or a feeling rise up in you.
Let it rise up.
Whether it's a picture or a felt sense.
Drink it in.
Welcome it into the space of your heart.
Receive.
Receive this experience or this person.
Receive what it is that you are feeling grateful for.
Sense how this feeling of gratitude moves and touches your heart.
And I'd like you to imagine the space of your heart is full and overflowing.
Overflowing like a waterfall of love.
A waterfall of clear light.
Receive this feeling.
Now from here,
From this place of feeling full of knowing that you are cared for and held.
Let an image or a feeling of someone you know who is struggling or in a moment of true need.
Feel their need.
Or maybe it's Mother Earth.
Feel her need.
Take your time.
Take your time.
Yes,
Just like that.
Hold this image.
This image of someone or something who is in need.
Hold this image in your heart very gently and let that love and light flow from your heart to theirs,
To the place of need.
Feel your heart as a natural inclination to give when it feels full,
When you are grateful and overflowing.
So take a big breath,
Exhale,
And let love pour forth.
Trust that love is intelligent.
It knows where to go.
Love is not subject to time and space.
It knows no bounds.
And love is inherently generous.
Breathe.
Feel how good it feels to let generosity flow.
This river of love and generosity flow.
Take your time.
Bask in the experience.
Bask in the feeling.
Bask in the feeling of allowing this loving generosity to flow.
Generosity nourishes us,
Coming and going.
So let's breathe and pause here.
I invite you to place your hands on the floor.
So let's breathe and pause here.
I invite you to place your hands on or near your heart and give thanks.
Feel the warmth of your hands and give thanks and praises for the opportunity to know love in this way.
Sense how perhaps your heart has expanded,
Relaxed,
Or softened during this meditation.
Feel your soft loving kindness.
Feel your soft loving and generous heart.
I thank you,
Sweet friend,
For practicing with me today.
Thank you so much for taking the time to cultivate your generous heart.
May you walk into your day feeling full and alive,
And may you share the richness of your heart with all the beings in your life.
So now,
Very gently,
Letting the eyes come open and step into your day.
I look forward to being with you again soon.
