I am so grateful that you are taking a moment to rest.
In this world,
Especially in the West,
We tend to run around and have long lists of things to do and we forget to rest.
We forget to slow down and pause.
We imagine that our value is connected to how much we do.
And I want to let you know that this is simply not the case.
You are enough.
You are worthy,
My friend.
You are wise.
You are wise enough to realize that rest is needed.
And rest can be taking a nap.
And the kind of rest that I am going to offer you here is resting deeply into your being,
Resting deeply into your body.
So let's begin by resting into the breath.
Rest into your breath.
Rest inside yourself.
Every breath is an invitation to rest,
Relax,
And let go.
Take your time.
Allow yourself to soften,
To slow way down,
To set aside all of your thoughts,
All of the things you did before,
And all the things you may do after.
What if,
My friend,
In this moment,
You become a devotee of rest?
Resting and letting go with each breath.
Imagine yourself somewhere that is peaceful.
Maybe you like the ocean,
Or maybe you have been to a river,
Or maybe it's a place somewhere else in nature.
Let yourself notice this place and soften as you see and hear,
Feel and smell this relaxing environment.
Every breath invites you to let go and rest,
Just for a few minutes.
You are allowed to rest,
Dear one.
Letting all the tension or tightness begin to melt away from the neck and shoulders all the way down the arms and out through the fingertips.
Just let go.
Rest,
Friend,
Rest.
Noticing what it's like to give yourself permission to rest.
And maybe you even whisper to yourself,
I am allowed,
I am allowed to rest.
To rest and let go.
For it's so important.
It is a very special kind of nourishment when you allow yourself to rest.
The mind can rest.
The body can rest.
The heart can rest.
And the soul can rest,
My friend.
This is a sacred moment.
A sacred moment to rest.
Say yes,
Yes to rest.
Just in this moment.
I'm going to give you a few minutes with just the music that is here in the background.
So that you can rest.
You can rest and breathe.
Rest as you breathe.
And I'll see you in a couple of minutes.
Enjoy this deep rest.
And ever so gently,
Allow yourself to come back and feel the benefits of just a little bit of rest.
How rest can be so nourishing.
So deeply nourishing.
And you are invited to rest as often as you like.
You can listen to this practice or you can rest in silence.
Rest is a gift you give yourself.
It is a gift you give to yourself,
My friends.
Thank you so much for taking this time to rest here,
Now,
Together.
I look forward to resting with you again.
