Welcome back to another walking meditation.
Today I am in a field on a public ride away just taking in the wonderful landscape that I am so thankful and grateful to have around me.
I've got Izzy with me who is my pet whippet and hopefully you're ready to take a journey with me into a walking meditation.
It doesn't matter where you are just grab your boots and your dog or whoever you're with and let's get going on this journey together.
So starting the practice off by not feeling any pressure not putting any expectations on yourself.
There are going to be sounds that we like,
There's going to be sounds that we don't like,
There's going to be situations that we probably quite enjoy,
There's going to be situations that we probably don't enjoy as much and each experience is different and something that we should all embrace whether we enjoy or we don't.
Remember it's really important to let go of these pressures or expectations to put on ourselves and allow ourselves time to just take in our surroundings.
So moving our awareness now to the feet.
Noticing each step,
Focusing that observation that notice that awareness on the feet and just noticing how it feels to walk.
Noticing how each step feels,
What sounds come with each step,
What feeling physically come with each step.
Just observing physically as you stroll,
Power walk or walk into this meditation.
And then just widening that observation now,
Noticing any sounds around you.
Can you hear the birds squawking?
Maybe you can hear birds tweeting?
Maybe you can hear pigs oinking,
Horses galloping,
Noticing that wildlife,
Maybe your dogs running,
Just noticing the wildlife around you.
If you think you can't see anything just look a little bit closer.
Notice a hedge with a bird in it.
The birds flying high in the sky.
Notice the trees with the crows,
The farmers fields with crops maybe,
Insects.
Just noticing that wildlife,
Looking a little bit deeper.
Just taking that in.
How does it feel as you stroll?
And then just bringing that awareness,
Observation to you.
How do you feel right now?
How are you feeling in this moment?
How are you feeling physically and emotionally?
Just observing that.
And then when you're ready,
Bringing that observation and awareness to the colours you see around you.
What I'd like you to do is notice everything that's green.
Maybe the grass,
The hedge,
The fields,
The crops.
Noticing things that are green.
Maybe the leaves,
The bark,
Plants.
Just being aware of the greenery around us.
And then when you're ready,
Changing the colour to brown.
Noticing the brown around you.
Maybe that's the fields,
The mud,
The treetops,
The leaves.
Trying to let go of any negativity around these colours.
Sometimes brown can be seen as a negative but actually it's quite beautiful.
Letting go of any experiences associated with each colour.
Just allowing it to be.
Allowing these colours to flourish and opening your eyes wider to the wonderful world around us.
And then changing that colour to blue.
Maybe a little bit harder for you depending where you are.
Or maybe quite easy but noticing if there's any water,
Blue sky,
Plants maybe,
Bluebells.
Noticing anything that's blue.
Again just taking in what you can see around you.
Letting the colours go.
Maybe just stopping on your walk.
Pausing now where you are.
Whichever way you're facing just notice the air brush past your skin.
Notice the breath on the inhale,
Breath on the exhale.
Notice the trees,
Birds,
The grass,
The hedge,
Fence.
Just notice the things around you.
And then continuing to scroll.
Bringing that awareness back to your footsteps.
Being mindful with each step.
Taking in the beauty around you.
Whenever you're ready.
Wiggling your fingers and your toes if you can.
Just bringing that awareness back to the physical moment.
As I leave you now to mindfully walk and enjoy the rest of your journey.
Namaste to you all.
