Easing A Difficult Relationship With An Elderly Parent
by Milla Loza
A meditation intending to help ease a difficult relationship with an elderly mom, dad, or another parental figure that you are taking care of — emotionally, physically, or financially — who never seems satisfied with all the good things you do for them. We begin with a balancing chakra meditation, followed by release affirmations for the negative build-up and an intake session so you rewire your mind to be more successful in managing and even overcoming your challenges.

Hello and welcome to your Easing a Difficult Relationship with an Elderly Parent harmonizing session brought to you by the Organic World Club where you can find a good deal of wellness tips and programs.
I am Mila Loza,
Your guide for today.
In this session,
We will address challenges when dealing with your elderly parent that you are supporting either physically or financially or even emotionally.
It may feel at times that you are not getting the gratitude that you expect for all your hard work and care.
While you may not have the power to change others,
You can certainly make adjustments within yourself that will make it easy to handle everyday situations.
In the first part of this session,
You will be guided into deep meditation and relaxation.
In that state,
We will focus on releasing negative emotional build-up so you make space for positive emotions.
You will hear affirmations about what to release.
The second part is an intake session where you will accept positive affirmations to help you live a happier and more fulfilling life through empowering a healthy relationship with your beloved parent.
Before we begin,
Find a comfortable place where you can sit or lie down fully supported and comfortable for the duration of the session.
I will guide you to achieve a relaxed state that will allow you to follow through with the emotional adjustment.
To make it even easier,
Prior to starting the session,
You are welcome to listen to my Reiki Balancing and Relaxation recording.
You will find some of this content similar but shorter.
Now,
Even out your breathing.
Begin to quiet down your senses.
Allow your eyelids to fall heavily as you close your eyes.
Let noises feel distant.
Notice how you feel.
Connect with your skin,
Scanning down and up your body from toes through lower legs,
Knees,
Upper legs,
Hips,
Belly,
Back,
Chest,
Upper back,
Shoulders.
Notice if you are holding any tightness in the shoulders.
Release with a deep inhale and even deeper exhale.
Direct your attention down to your upper arms,
Lower arms,
Hands and back up to the shoulders,
The back of your head,
The tip of your head,
Your face,
Eyes,
Nose,
Mouth,
Chin.
Notice if you are clenching it.
Notice if you are clenching your chin.
Release with a deep inhale and even deeper exhale.
Once again say,
Ahhh.
How does this feel?
Good.
Now in this state,
You will begin to energize your energy centers,
Your chakras.
Starting with your crown chakra,
Your seven chakras,
The area on the tip of your head,
The highest point of your body when you are standing up tall.
Notice a warm wave from there all the way down through your spine.
Take three deep slow breaths every time we focus on the chakra.
Take a deep breath in,
Expanding your entire lungs through your belly and chest.
And take a deep breath out,
Compressing the chest first and then the belly.
Two more times,
One big flow in and one big flow out.
One more time on your own.
Direct your attention now to your third eye,
Your sixth chakra,
The area between your eyebrows and your forehead.
Take three breaths in.
Direct your attention down to your fifth chakra,
In the base of your neck,
The central point between your shoulders,
Front and back.
Notice if you are holding any tension in your shoulders that may prevent you from balancing your fifth chakra.
And relax.
Release the shoulders and even pull them down.
Now take three deep breaths together with me on your own.
One more time.
Release,
Compressing the chest and then the belly.
And now direct your attention down to your fourth chakra,
The middle of your chest,
By your heart,
Right in the center,
The front and in the back.
Hold your attention here until you feel radiating love out of it.
Take three deep breaths once again,
Filling up belly and chest and letting it out through the chest and then the belly.
Utilizing your full lung capacity,
Opening up your chest wider than you normally do,
Filling up your belly and pulling in chest and belly for a much deeper exhale than normally you do.
And when you're done,
Direct your attention down towards your third chakra,
Right below the breastbone,
Above the abdominal,
Right there in that gap under your chest where you may have experienced that gut feeling that we normally talk about.
Three breaths,
Directing your attention to your third chakra.
Energizing that area.
And when you're done,
Direct your attention down towards your second chakra,
Right below your navel in the center of your lower belly.
Let's take three deep breaths.
Deep inhales and deep exhales.
Energizing that area.
And last,
We'll focus on the first chakra.
Direct your attention down towards the base of your torso,
Behind your genitals.
Connect with the grounding energy and direct it down through your legs,
Through your feet,
Down the floor,
Down to the center of the earth.
Down within the planet,
As if you're growing roots,
Going deeper and deeper,
Down all the way to the core of Mother Earth,
Our home in this lifetime.
Breathe.
And when you're done,
With your three inhales and three exhales,
Come back.
Up through the legs,
Through your spine,
Up through every chakra,
From the base of your torso up through the belly,
Chest,
Neck.
Take a moment to notice your energy balancing and all the way up to your third eye and crown chakra.
Evening out your breath.
Now in this state,
You feel balanced and relaxed.
You're ready to receive affirmations that will help you connect deeper with your higher self and connect with the wisdom within you to help you navigate challenges.
We begin with release affirmations.
Later on,
We will focus on positive intake.
Now,
Repeat silently to yourself or even out loud to release blocked energy if it helps you connect with my words better.
Ready?
Take a deep breath in and let it go.
We will try to stay with the breath as we go through this with a lot of deep exhales in between releases.

Take a deep inhale and a deep exhale right here.
Now we begin to intake affirmations.
Again,
Repeat out loud or simply accept the affirmations,
Aligning yourself with their message.

Before we end our session,
You will connect again with your energy centers and affirm this renewed state of being that you have accepted.
Let's go through our chakras.
Starting with the first,
The base of your torso.
Connect once more with the grounding energy,
Tracing up from the core of the planet all the way up to yourself where you are in this moment.
And direct your energy up to your lower belly.
Lower back.
Up to the third chakra below the breastbone and the back.
And up to your heart chakra from and back.
And fifth chakra to the base of your neck,
Central point between your very relaxed shoulders.
That's your communication center.
Direct your attention to your third eye or sixth chakra,
The area between your eyebrows and your forehead.
And up to your seventh crown chakra,
Your connection with the spiritual world,
Your higher self,
Higher power.
Notice how this feels.
Notice how your body feels.
Notice how your mind feels.
And go back to this memory.
You have the ability to bring back this state whenever you need it for lasting results.
Of course this meditation is here for you and you're welcome to listen to it regularly or as long as it serves you well.
And you can stay here,
Take all the time you need.
And when you're done,
Keep the energy of giving flowing and contribute at your own comfort level.
Empower us to empower you.
Stay with your breath.
Be one with your breath.
Namaste.
