When you're ready,
Gently let your eyes close and take a deep breath in.
And exhaling deeply,
Feel your body already starting to relax.
Breathing in,
Holding and then slowly breathing out.
Inhale and exhale.
In and out.
Feeling the rhythm of your breathing gradually becoming calmer and your body feeling more relaxed.
With your next breath,
Feel your face relaxing,
Ensuring that your eyes are resting and letting go of any tightness in this area.
Then releasing any tension from your mouth and your jaw to allow those lovely deep breaths in and out.
The feeling of relaxation spreads down to loosen the muscles in your neck,
Down to your shoulders,
Allowing them to drop comfortably.
And then down through your arms to your hands,
Which now feel so light,
All the way down to your fingertips,
Where you might feel a slight tingling as they completely relax.
Relaxation continues to drift slowly and calmly further down your body now.
Your chest area releases more and more with each exhale,
Breathing down through your hips now,
Into your legs and eventually with a few more deep breaths to your feet,
Where again you feel such lightness and a tingling sensation in your toes.
On the next exhale,
Release your breath with a long audible sigh.
And then once again,
With your tongue resting gently between your teeth,
Focus the energy of your breath on loosening your jaw and mouth as you breathe out a gentle sigh.
Direct this sensation right down towards your pelvic floor,
Which is gently cradling your baby.
Feel your lower body receive this breath and any tension slipping away as it begins to relax and release.
Now inhale for four counts.
Hold for four.
Exhale for four.
And hold for four.
Before inhaling again,
Breathing in two,
Three,
Four.
Out two,
Three,
Four.
Slowly and calmly,
Feeling your body release from your jaw and mouth and throat in a direct line all the way down through your belly,
Allowing your hips and pelvis to relax and release.
This deep breathing practice will always bring your body awareness and remind you to open your jaw and breathe deeply into your belly,
Right down to your pelvis.
As you sigh and relax your jaw,
Your pelvis will instantly start to release and relax.
And eventually,
You will unfold and open your body to allow your baby to complete their journey through the birth path and into the world and your arms.
As you do this,
You will send them the power of your positive energy,
Your compassion,
Your gratitude,
And your loving kindness.
You will work together in the most incredible experience of surrender and birth as one.
As you breathe in the joy of this moment,
Repeat these words to yourself.
I am strong.
I believe in my inner wisdom,
The wisdom that all birthing women share.
I trust my own instincts.
I trust my baby.
I am confident that my body and my baby know what to do.
I trust the process of birth to unfold naturally and with ease.
Now with your next exhale,
Repeat this mantra.
I release,
I surrender.
Every time you repeat this,
You will feel an awareness of any tension slipping from your body and any final resistance melting away as you open yourself to your unique and magical birth journey as it evolves.
I release,
I surrender.
Feel your body rise and fall with your breath.
Allow yourself to feel completely free and unburdened by anything that may be holding you back or standing in your way.
Trust that you will have everything you need within you to fully embrace your birth experience,
The wisdom and confidence to allow yourself to completely surrender your mind and your body to follow your deepest instincts as a mother.
Now taking another breath,
When you're ready,
Let your eyes slowly open.
