Exploring Resolution/Intention Supported By Reiki Energy
by Gina Ferrara
Resolution is a word we often use at the beginning of the New Year. But resolutions, intentions, or goals are available to us anytime. We are always beginning anew and can reframe our desires and our Resolutions throughout the year. This talk/meditation explores the options we have when considering new intentions and new phases of life. This was created from one of the weekly LIVE sessions, Weekly Reset with Reiki. This track is infused with and transmits Reiki if you would like to accept the energy during this mediation. I welcome your thoughts on the topic. Peaceful journeys! Music Credit to Manuel Portillo.

Many of us look to the new year when considering resolutions,
Intentions,
Or goal setting.
But we set our intentions routinely and they can shift over time.
Reconsidering a fresh start or augmenting your journey can begin at any point in the day,
The month,
Or the year.
Resolution has many definitions and several of them feel resonant to identifying how we approach shift or change.
Resolution,
To do or not to do something,
Which is how we often think about resolution,
Something we will do in the future.
Perhaps we say,
It is my goal to be happier,
Be thinner,
Be more productive,
To walk every day,
To speak more kindly,
Dot,
Dot,
Dot.
Whatever it is,
It's something we choose,
We want to do,
Or as stated in the definition,
Something we want to eliminate.
One year,
I set out to eliminate negativity in my thought and in my communication.
So resolution is definitely something we strive for,
Even if it's getting rid of something.
Resolution is also the action of solving a problem,
Having a resolve,
Fixing what we feel is not right.
I like this definition in thinking about a new beginning or a new year.
It brings into play our creativity to take care of what we want to change,
What we want to see in each new moment.
We create it,
We make it happen.
It's also the concept of resolving conflict and that can be conflict within ourselves,
Something we grapple with internally.
Perhaps the difficulty we may have in justifying our authentic self with the one we portray.
It can also be about difficulties with another person or situations at work in how we're living our lives,
In our relationships.
Then there is this resolution,
The conversion of something abstract into another form,
The gradual resolution,
The shifting,
The melding,
The morphing into what we want to become.
This is such a cool concept.
It's a reminder that everything takes time and that change occurs gradually.
This to me does feel so normal and natural,
But it doesn't always fit into the quote,
I want it now,
Desire that we often feel.
It is though how we learn everything.
We take in slowly and at first things seem daunting,
Confusing and perhaps overwhelming.
The more we're immersed in the subject,
In the teachings,
Our understanding grows and suddenly,
Well it can seem suddenly,
We have something that's become a part of the fabric of who we are.
So though resolution may begin at one time,
It may not have an actual ending.
We continue to evolve and grow forever.
Isn't that a beautiful thing?
The final process that I considered when thinking about resolution,
I didn't observe in the dictionary,
But I pursued it because I knew it to be something that was relevant.
There is a term of resolution in photography.
I am not a photographer.
However,
I know it's about the clarity and the depth of the formation of an image,
Taking the idea of this shift and this change and putting it into focus,
Into greater perspective.
So with resolution or using the word intention,
We are creating a way to solve a problem.
We are gradually incorporating that into our lives to form this much clearer,
Stronger picture of what it is that we truly want.
Intention is a resolve,
Something you want to have occur.
We often use it synonymously with resolution.
I like the quote by Malika Chopra in her book,
Living with Intent.
In the Buddhist tradition,
Intention is about living each moment with integrity and in keeping with that,
What matters most to you.
Buddhists believe that by carrying your intentions with you moment to moment and trying to live in accord with your deepest values,
You are more likely to set wise goals and do the necessary work to achieve them.
This connects with values.
Resolutions,
Intentions,
And values should support each other.
You could ask yourself,
Does my intention line up with my belief system,
With my values?
When approaching resolutions at the beginning of the year,
A fellow meditator shared that they take their values and assign a goal to each.
The value of health,
For example,
Has a goal of taking a walk each day or eating foods that nourish the body.
It's a beautiful way to incorporate values and maintain the integrity of what is truly important.
The resolution should be a support.
A support for yourself,
For your lifestyle,
For your values.
Do you have a resolution or intention or some change you would like to create?
Let's pursue this.
We'll welcome Reiki in for this guided meditation and then quiet reflection.
We ask to be open and accepting of Reiki energy today as it is brought to us and received by us,
Knowing that whatever our intentions,
Our resolutions,
Our problems,
Our desires,
That Reiki will still be here for our highest and greatest good.
Let's ground with a slow,
Deep breath into your core and release it slowly.
Allow your body to settle into its space.
And another slow,
Deep breath,
Letting the exhale help you to release excess tension within.
As you locate your own comfortable breathing rhythm,
Continue to release tension as you exhale.
The tension you might be holding in your head,
In your face,
In your jaw,
Your eyes.
Imagine releasing any tension in your neck.
Melting away tightness sitting in your shoulders.
Breathing into your chest and expanding that space to create room for breath and heart and thought.
And slowly release any tension that may be lingering in your belly and relaxing your pelvis.
Be in a place where you allow in relaxation and openness.
Enough room within to consider for a moment the wonderful person you are and take that in.
Take in what I'm saying.
Take in the words.
Allow them to come in and be received just as you are receiving breath,
Just as you are allowing in Reiki energy.
Take in these words.
Acknowledge that you are special.
You are wonderful.
Imagine the open space at your chest where you can live from,
Where you do live from,
The space of your heart,
The space that holds the true vision of you,
The space that knows that you are deserving of happiness,
Of success,
Of compassion,
Of love,
Of stability,
Of acceptance,
Of kindness,
And joy,
And anything you desire.
A space where you follow an intention to be true to yourself just in this moment.
And let's just be here with all of those wonderful things within your heart space,
Within your whole being.
Grab a picture of yourself with light shining directly from your heart space,
Directly from your heart.
This beam shines on all that you are,
All that you can become,
All the desires you have,
And the intentions you hold.
Allow that light,
These thoughts,
This understanding to warm and comfort your entire being and that the light is so strong and meaningful it illuminates everything good that you have and that is to come.
Keep focused on your intentions now as we release into quiet reflection.
Continue to move your breath.
Maintain a bright vision of yourself.
As thoughts or words come to you,
Be sure you can maintain alliance with your truest nature.
Retrieve stray thought or negativity and return back to your own resolve,
Your breath,
Your openness,
And the most powerful vision of yourself.
Feel free to take a deep breath in,
Placing your hands on your heart space if you'd like.
Sensing your hands move with your breath.
Feeling your connection to yourself,
To your intention,
To your values,
To your true self.
Kiyodake wa ekaru na.
Shinpai su na.
Kancha shite.
Go o hagame.
Hito ni shinsetsu ni.
Just for today,
I will not anger.
I will not worry.
I will be grateful.
I will work with diligence.
I will be kind.
Continue to ground and re-energize yourself from within as you allow yourself to emerge from this time,
This meditation,
This thought of intention and resolution.
Offer thanks to yourself for this time and to the energy for its guidance.
Journal now if you can and preserve the images,
Thoughts,
And feelings that have arisen for now and for the future.

I am that I am. I am on FIRE π₯ today! I was just scrolling through the meditations and this one caught my eye. Following what I learned in an earlier Reiki session, I followed my intuition and entered this meditation. I am so glad I did! It was a confirmation to me that I finally have entered my bright path. I am usually very introverted, but today I have been sprinkling my thoughts all over the place with no fear of judgment. Just acceptance. Gina is right January 1st is just a number. If I had thought this meditation was only for the beginning of the year, I would have missed all the nuggets of wisdom contained within. Thank you for sharing your goodness with us. You are most definitely on the brightest path ever!ππΌποΈπ«Άπ»β₯οΈ
