The flow of life can be overwhelming. It may be difficult to find a few minutes to pause and rest your brain and body. We will utilize body scan visualization and the breath as we share a few minutes of peaceful rest and tension release. Thanks to Chris Collins for the music.

Hello,

I'm Gina.

Let's take a few minutes for peace.

Find the place in which you wish to be for this meditation and settle in.

Close your eyes as you are able.

Take in a couple of deep breaths and release them as forcefully as feels right to you.

I have spoken in the past about the power of intention.

We will do all of this with intent and that will prepare us to reduce tension.

Visualize as is needed to provide release.

Sometimes this is all that is necessary to see or ask our body parts to relax.

So now let's release tension from head to toe.

Imagine the sun gently warming your scalp and melting stress or tension that sits atop your head.

See and feel this tension pouring down and whisking away from your head.

Do the same with your forehead,

Eyebrows,

Eyes,

Temples,

Cheeks,

Nose,

Jaw,

And lips.

As well,

Release the muscles at the back of the head,

Neck,

And shoulders.

Take in a gentle breath and with the release,

Melt away any chest heaviness.

Breathe in again and do the same with your upper,

Middle,

And lower back.

And breathe into that thoracic space and notice it open wide.

Allow the air to send out any residual tension that resides there.

Dissolve tightness in your hips and pelvis.

Sense the release from your thighs.

Create space within your knees and feel stress pouring down off your legs and into the earth below.

Sense your feet and send away any strain or soreness right out through your toes or the soles of your feet.

Do a quick scan from head to toe and send off any residual stress or tension.

Sit briefly with this more relaxed shell of your body.

Now breathe in,

Imagining you are filling your entire body with that air like a balloon.

And this time,

Allow the exhale to release and flow out of the top of your head and into the cosmos where it will be dissolved harmlessly.

Repeat this twice more.

As you exhale,

Sense the space created in your body,

The lengthening of your spine,

And this power you have to create calm.

Sense your intention of peace and your actual peace and smile.

Peace does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise,

Trouble or hard work.

It means to be in the midst of these things and still become in your heart.

If your eyes are closed,

Open them slowly and gently.

Notice the change that has occurred in just a few minutes and give thanks to yourself for the gift of this time.

May you continue your journey toward peace.
