Pay attention to the mind as it takes you through the transitions of the day and watch what you desire and what you can just let go.
Let's take this 15 minutes to be together to meditate on acceptance.
It's a big word and there have been connections to letting go and trying to accept things as they are.
So let's just pause and look at areas in our life where we need to hone acceptance.
So come to a comfortable position and arrive in your body where you are right now.
Like gravity holds you in its embrace.
Feel the weight in the lower part of your body,
The heaviness of some of what worries you or upsets you,
Of what is hard to accept.
And then see the weightlessness of awareness by raising it or feeling it in the upper part of your body.
Feel that weightlessness.
Let things just rise and release.
This is your moment.
This is your calm.
Oftentimes it's talked about to try to find your center.
I find it's helpful to honor the posture.
Spine is long,
Head reaching towards the sky,
Arms resting,
Palms on the thighs.
Spine is long.
Engage the core slightly and relax.
Close the eyes.
Soften the jaw and face and see if there's anywhere else in the body that you need to soften.
In doing so,
See if you can find your center.
Is there a place in your body where you feel a stillness?
Gently breathe into different parts of the body to see where you feel this deep stillness.
It's important to remember to release all expectations and just breathe gently in a relaxed way.
And even accept these moments as they come in this meditation.
Accepting what is,
What will be.
Hoping that you're feeling your breath soften and you're feeling more still in the posture.
Feel the darkness behind your eyes.
Feel the sound around you.
Your heart beating.
Saliva in your mouth.
The smell of spring or the season or the air in the room you're in.
And the touch of your hands against your clothing or your legs.
You can hear the background sounds in my environment.
Just be with the breath as it is.
If your mind wanders,
Just come back.
Come back to the breath.
And maybe just come back to the word acceptance.
Just hold it near and think about what it means to you.
Acceptance of yourself is huge.
Love yourself for all that you are and will be.
Acceptance of the past and the moments that have gone before.
Just to be in this present moment.
In the grace of this present moment.
And just to accept what is right now.
Don't have to do anything or think about anything.
As I mentioned earlier,
Feel the weight of the things that you find hard to accept and then feel the weightlessness of letting go and just accepting what is in this present moment and living from moment to moment,
Which is very hard.
For me,
Part of the difficulty with acceptance is my own judgment.
It's my judgment on others.
And truly not just being in the present with rational,
Unreactive behavior.
I think that's all possible when we can take time to meditate in stillness.
So that when things arise that we find hard to accept.
This place will be more accessible,
Maybe closer.
And we may be able to find our center more and more.
Because our center is key to our life process.
And our pause when we need it.
Breathe in,
I am.
Breathe out,
Letting go.
I am.
Letting go.
Just conjure some of the things that you need to let go.
Practice that on your own.
I am letting go of fear.
Maybe fear of a specific thing.
I am letting go of anger.
For me,
I might say I am letting go of being over responsible.
Everything you need is within you.
If you take this time to find your place in awareness,
In consciousness,
You have less than a minute left.
I'll tell you when the time is up.
Your last minute.
Just follow the breath.
And be gentle with who you are.
Thank you for practicing with me.
And may your day be filled with acceptance and letting go in every way that is useful for your precious life.
