(This exercise is firstly made for a group of people from an event, and the audio quality isn't the best.) Bodily meditative exercise. Come and explore the terrifyingly exciting thing we call loneliness. When sinking down deep, you might find what you didn’t know you were looking for. This will be explored eyes closed, listening to our bodies in a meditative way.

Finding my direction through loneliness While it is important for us to have connection to others,

Love and community,

It is also important to sometimes just take time for ourselves In this exercise we can embrace loneliness and maybe find something new by a bodily,

Meditative way I will guide you through this journey If at any time you feel uneasy,

You are free to stop the exercise This exercise isn't for going through big traumas,

For traumas need a lot of time and concentration But you are free to explore all your emotions You can start by taking a relaxed position and make sure you have room to move And when you are in a good position you can start by taking couple deep breaths You can breathe in And out In And out You can start imagining when are you alone When are you most likely all by yourself?

Where are you when you are alone?

Maybe it is the place where you are now or maybe somewhere else If you are not in that place you can imagine that place where you are usually alone What do you do when you are alone?

Do you take your computer,

Your phone to your hand,

Draw something?

Do music,

Maybe meditate,

Something else?

What do you do usually?

What is the thing you do without even thinking when you are alone?

What do you do automatically?

Well,

There is nothing wrong with this Nothing wrong with looking at your phone sometimes,

Nothing wrong with any other thing Sometimes it could be good for us just not to do anything What if you wouldn't do anything?

You would just sit alone,

Listening to yourself?

What would come up?

Giving yourself,

Your mind and your body concentration It can give your unseen emotions,

Unseen thoughts some sight,

A way out Next we will continue with movement Listen to your body What is your body doing right now?

Is it moving?

Your breathing?

Is there something else?

If you listen to your body carefully,

Is there a movement you want to do?

Maybe something small?

Maybe something big?

Maybe your neck is hurting or you want to move your fingers?

Maybe you want to change your position?

Listen to your body,

Let it guide you through And just continue moving You might also feel like staying still Maybe there is something little,

Some little movement,

Some little pulse somewhere It might feel hard to listen to your body and move,

Listening to it But we have time,

We are in no hurry And then you can stop when you feel like it And start to listen to your bodily feelings What is going through your body?

Your heart is beating,

Your breathing,

But is there something else?

Do you feel some aching?

Maybe in your neck,

Maybe somewhere else?

Do you feel tightness?

Or do you feel just relaxed everywhere?

Is there a place you feel like touching?

If so,

You can just touch that place And you can again continue moving,

Listening to your body It might be something big,

You might want to dance You might want to do something other big,

Something what you feel like Maybe you just want to sit or lay down and not do anything We have different days,

Different times,

Different feelings Just listen to yourself right now,

Your body,

What does it want to do right now?

Maybe stretch something?

Maybe just taking a deep breath And when you feel like you can't hear anything from your body,

You can just be still And when you feel like it,

You can stop the movement And again listen to your bodily feelings What do you feel in your body?

There might be many things at the same time There might be different kinds of sensations Maybe something warm or cold Maybe you want to pet yourself,

Hug yourself,

Just touch some part of you What is the body telling you today?

And you can start moving again Listening to your body,

Letting it guide you It doesn't have to look beautiful,

It doesn't have to look like anything You can just be eyes closed,

Listening to your body The waves guide you to waves of movement And again if you don't feel like moving at all,

You can just stay still And when you feel like it,

You can stop the movement And now you can listen to your thoughts The thought cycles that go around your head Maybe you are thinking something about the future or the past And that's completely normal Maybe you feel bored You feel like you want to go somewhere else That's also fine Sometimes we might have some kind of resistance Towards getting deeper into our feelings You can listen to those thoughts and let them go Just notice them,

That there are thoughts in your head But now you are here The thoughts may carry you away from this moment But that is completely normal,

That happens to us That's how our mind works You can just let your thoughts be as they are Sometimes we might believe in our thoughts,

That they are true But sometimes it is needed to know that many times thoughts are just thoughts And there might be something else we could also think some other way And you can start to move again If you feel like it What does your body need?

Where is it guiding you?

Is it a soft movement?

Something hard?

Maybe you just feel like taking a deep breath Is your face moving?

Maybe your fingers,

Your toes,

Whole body And when you feel like it,

You can stop the movement And start to listen to your emotions How are you feeling?

It might be hard to hear anything And anytime if you feel that it is hard to listen to your emotions,

You can always go back and listen to your bodily feelings How is your body feeling?

But if you are listening to your emotions or at least trying,

You can try to search a word for the feeling Maybe there isn't any,

Maybe it is just some feeling,

You don't know what it is Maybe you can sense if it is negative or positive or neutral or many things Or maybe you can feel many emotions at the same time Maybe something positive,

Add something negative Maybe you feel joy or shame,

Trust,

Fear Love,

Maybe sadness,

Jealousy or even anger Excitement,

Happiness,

Uneasiness or maybe distress Or something else,

Something that I didn't mention And you can just let the emotion be accepted Now I am feeling this,

I am safe and I accept this feeling You can welcome your feeling,

Your emotions,

You can say to them I welcome you,

I notice you And if it feels hard to be in that emotion,

You can take a deep breath Maybe open your eyes,

Touch something that is around you,

Remember you are here in this moment You can go as deep as you want,

But you don't have to do that at all I said before,

If it is something very big,

Very negative,

Something that might be a trauma You might want to open your eyes and breathe,

Remember you are here,

Hug yourself Touch something that you notice that you are right here,

Right now And continue if you feel like it But if it is just a negative emotion,

There is nothing dangerous with them You can just feel the anger,

Feel the jealousy and accept it Maybe you haven't listened to your emotions in a while There might be many at the same time,

A big bundle that wants to come out And you can let it come out as much as you want If you feel like it,

You can stop,

And the next time you do it,

It is easier Next time there is less emotions to hear Maybe your emotions are different now than they were a couple of minutes ago That's how they do,

They come and go And if it feels hard to hear anything,

Or if you just feel like it,

You can again start listening to your body Do some movement,

If you feel like it Let your body guide you Is the movement different now than it was before?

Or maybe you just feel like staying still,

Breathing And when you feel like it,

You can stop the movement And continue listening to your emotions How am I feeling right now?

Is there something I haven't heard before?

Something I haven't accepted before?

Is there emotion,

An emotion that I'm annoyed at?

Is there something you don't want to feel,

But you are feeling?

Emotions come and go when we let them come,

We let ourselves feel the emotions And when we feel them,

We free them,

And that is when we can let them go Some emotions might take more time,

Some take less time Maybe some emotions you want to have more,

Maybe some emotions you want to have less Maybe it's just a big bundle of emotions that you are not sure of what's inside it It takes time and practice to start noticing your emotions And you can learn it Right now you might not hear anything,

And it's all good,

All fine You have time to learn to hear yourself If it feels hard,

You can start always go back,

Listening to your body,

Bodily functions,

Bodily feelings If you have a big emotion you are feeling right now,

You can let it come,

You can just feel it Be with it,

Take your time,

Accept it Maybe the emotion gets louder,

Maybe it has already passed You can start letting go of the emotion bit by bit Just by breathing in deeply And out Maybe if you need help to get out of the emotion you can move your body,

Touch your body,

Touch something around you Maybe even open your eyes,

Remember that you are here right now,

You are safe And take another deep breath Now that you are hearing yourself maybe a bit more than before,

What do you want to do with it?

Do you want to do anything?

Is there another way you want to be,

You want to live your life?

Do you have a big negative emotion or emotions that you want to reduce?

Is there something that affects you,

Makes you feel that?

Is there something you can do about it in your everyday life?

Or is it just something you need to listen to more often,

Let it come out Maybe it is something that has been there for a while Maybe you had positive emotions Maybe you can think of ways how to give them more time,

Give them more space How to embrace them You can imagine your alone time again,

Loneliness,

Being alone Where are you then?

When are you alone?

What do you usually do?

What if next time you are alone before anything else you would just stop for couple of minutes to listen to yourself Maybe move a little,

Do some small movements,

Remember that you are also a body and not just a mind How can you make sure you have more time for yourself?

Just be alone,

A bit bored by yourself Boredom is a good feeling because that is when we can hear ourselves That is when we also see everything else more clearly You can think of ways how you can concentrate more on yourself Even though it is important to have connection to other people Animals,

Nature,

The whole world,

Sometimes you also need time just for yourself,

Your whole body and mind and spirit Maybe there is a small time in your everyday life when you can commit time for yourself For loneliness,

Embracing loneliness Now you can start grounding back by taking a deep breath in and out In and out You can say to yourself,

I am loved and accepted as I am Because you are the one who can give that to yourself You can say it again to yourself,

I am loved and accepted as I am If you feel like it you can maybe hug yourself,

Soothe yourself,

Pat yourself Show yourself love and acceptance I am loved and accepted as I am With all the thoughts,

All the feelings I am feeling right now I am loved and accepted as I am Sometimes we need to be more graceful for ourselves Show ourselves more nurturing and not push ourselves to limits And when we can again breath more easily,

Feel more easily Then we can be also more for others as well If you feel like it you can lay down or sit,

Take a comfortable position And just relax and be in this feeling,

In this present moment Feeling the love and acceptance Hearing our emotions might take some energy,

You might feel a bit tired today So listen to that But in the long run it is good for you For your body will be more freed of emotions that have been blocked And you have more space to be and feel and breath If you feel like it you can continue being relaxed But I also invite you to stop this exercise with me Do as you feel like Thank yourself for hearing yourself today as much as you could do it today
