Welcome.
This is Padma Gordon and I want to offer you a meditation that speaks to slowing down and moving from stillness.
Moving from stillness.
There is a quote from Lao Tzu that says,
Nature doesn't hurry and yet everything gets done.
Nature doesn't hurry and yet everything gets done.
So I'd like you to just receive this,
Make yourself comfortable,
And let's spend just a few moments together.
Dropping in,
Sinking down,
Sinking down,
Taking few deep breaths,
Turning away from everything that's happening on the outside to take some time to turn toward yourself,
To turn toward what is already still,
What is already deeply quiet.
Because you might notice that the more still you are,
The easier things can flow.
So just taking this time right now to turn toward yourself and drop down,
Feeling the ground beneath you,
Feeling where you're supported from underneath,
Allowing the breath to usher you in so that you can rest.
You can tap in to an infinite spring,
An infinite source of energy and quiet.
And you might notice that the more still you are on the inside,
The more this frees you up to be fluid and efficient as you move through your life,
As you tend to your tasks,
As you handle all the practical things of your life.
You allow yourself to be moved by stillness,
To come from a place of quiet.
So right now,
Just shining the light of your awareness in and down,
In and down.
And perhaps the sound of my voice can be a signal for everything to relax to the next level so that any worries,
Any distractedness can fall away and you can rest into the quiet inside.
Maybe it's like resting on the beach in the shade,
Just listening to the waves of the ocean lapping up on the shore.
Or perhaps it's like sitting next to a lazy river as it ambles downstream,
Just feeling the ease and the flow and how you can rest more and more deeply.
And how the practice of tending to yourself right now directly increases your capacity to show up in your life,
To do what needs doing and to be carried by the breeze,
By the breeze of existence that is blowing.
So that perhaps a task that you imagined was going to be effortful and challenging becomes easy.
You're clear and you take one step at a time,
Allowing the deep wellspring of silence that is your nature to lead,
Trusting the intelligence that lives within you,
Within each one of us,
Trusting that intelligence and noticing if and when old habits of the mind,
Old conditioning arises,
Recognizing it and then responding,
Allowing silence to respond.
And you might discover that everything is that much simpler,
Is that much more fluid,
Is that much easier.
And it can be such a relief to live in this way,
Allowing yourself to move and be moved from silence,
From this inner silence that lives in your heart.
That's right.
And each time you listen to this process,
Everything that's said and heard goes deeper.
Breathing so that when it's time for you to get up from this meditation and reengage with whatever it is you have in your plans,
You do so with a renewed sense of energy,
Ease and grace.
And so it is.
So it is.
So it is.
