What would it be like if we embraced everything that showed up in our lives? What if we leaned into discomfort instead of running away from it? As someone who is committed to movement, I find that leaning in is the most expedient, evolutionary pathway. Growth and evolution as we open to the things in our lives might feel uncomfortable and it is pertinent that we remain compassionately connected to ourselves as we explore new frontiers in our lives. The first step is to breathe deeply, creating space within to make room to expand as we turn our attention inward. *Gratitude to Marina Raye for sharing her music track “Awakening Dream” from the album Liquid Silk.

Let's begin our meditation,

Our meditation on radical inclusivity,

Which means opening wide and even wider to include everything in service of expanding your capacity to be with what is and to lean in,

To lean into the discomfort,

The discomfort which is needed for you to grow and evolve,

To lead a richer and fuller,

More deeply connected life,

A life in which you're connected to yourself and available for connection with others,

With the people in your life.

So let's begin with some really full breaths.

With each breath,

Taking the time to receive yourself,

To include how your body is feeling right now,

And one breath at a time,

Welcoming,

Welcoming your direct experience.

And I invite you to turn toward the physical sensations that are happening right now.

Noticing one particular sensation that's calling for your attention and put your awareness there,

Bring the warmth of your attention to this place in your body without needing to fix it or change it,

Without needing to analyze what it might mean.

Really taking the time to experience yourself directly,

To include what is occurring.

Taking your time,

Redirecting your mind back to this sensation,

Being patient,

Caring,

And kind with yourself as you welcome what's here.

This is the foundational practice for radical inclusivity,

Making room for what is occurring.

And you might notice that whichever sensation you've been tending to may have passed or may be passing.

And when it does,

Taking a big breath and noticing what's here now.

Pleasurable,

Not pleasurable,

Makes no difference.

You're training your mind.

You're training your mind to tend to what is occurring,

To include what is occurring.

To be with,

For as long as it takes,

Your cultivating patience,

Presence,

Awareness.

You're training your body and you're training your mind because you can train the body and you can train the mind and you cannot train feelings.

Feelings ask to be experienced.

So by doing this practice,

You're honing your ability to be with the feelings that arise and pass away moment to moment.

Honing your ability to receive yourself regardless of what's happening.

And as you do this,

You're honing your ability to relate to the people in your life,

To have space for them to be as they are.

All inclusivity lends itself to the breaking of old patterns which gives rise in turn to a fresh response,

To an unknown response,

An unknown response to a once familiar situation.

This is a radical practice.

I encourage you to spend time,

Maybe three to five minutes each day setting a timer and practicing receiving yourself,

Noticing yourself,

Being vigilant,

Redirecting the mind back to what is occurring from moment to moment in the physical body,

Watching your sensations as they arise and pass away.

This is a bridge.

It gives you a bridge to relating,

To relating skillfully with openness and care for yourself and for the people in your life.

I'm supporting you.

I'm cheering you on.

I am here as your ally.

Thank you🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻The title attracted me. It is not really a meditation, rather a talk and one the needs to be heard. Totally agree with the content!

We can control the body, we can control the mind, but we can’t control feelings....they need to be expressed. What a truth bomb to start the day with!! 🙏🏼

Wow! This is some deep work in learning to respond skillfully and attending to what's present -- but it's never harsh; you can feel the lovingkindness. I will be returning often.
