We work so hard to control the outside world in order to find a feeling of "okayness" and peace. But who we are inside is a sense of peace and a feeling of being Ok no matter what our outside world looks like. So if we can look within ourselves to what is stable and not moving, instead of the transient, outside world, we can find a deeper sense of Okayness within. When we touch this space within us, we find deeper peace in our lives. This practice will guide you to your innate sense of okayness within and allow you a bit of time to rest there.

So allowing yourself to get settled into your space,

Closing your eyes,

And just beginning by bringing your awareness to the connection between the bottom half of your body and the seat below you.

Perhaps noticing your back connected to the space as well.

And just allowing your awareness to drift into these four walls.

And with these next few inhales and exhales,

See if you can allow your body just to begin to melt down into the space below you.

Almost as if the ground is completely holding the weight of your body and you allow yourself to sink a bit deeper below,

As if the energy of your body is merging with the earth.

Letting go of needing to do anything in particular here.

Just allowing the body to be soft and easy and beginning to turn all of your awareness inward.

Seeing if you can let go of any specific point or destination,

But just trying to feel your way to the opposite of the outer world.

Settling in,

Letting go.

And as we settle a bit deeper within,

Could you allow yourself to hold the space for perhaps being okay regardless of your circumstances?

Could you let go of needing to change anything on the outside world right now in order to have peace within?

Could you maybe ponder that peace within and outside circumstances are two separate things?

And in this moment,

Could you allow yourself to let go of any reins you've been holding tightly?

And knowing that thought settles on its own when you get out of the way,

Could you allow yourself to just let the thought you're wrapped up in settle as you simply sit here and do nothing at all?

Maybe perhaps the image of a snow globe being shaken up comes to mind.

And when the snow globe is shaken,

The snow just moves all over the place.

And when we sit the snow globe down,

The snow begins to settle to the bottom on its own without your effort.

Letting the outside world be,

Allowing your thoughts to settle as you get out of the way.

Letting the outside world be,

Allowing your thoughts to settle as you get out of the way.

And once more,

Could you just allow yourself to be open?

To a space within you,

Within every human being that is okay regardless of outer experience?

And that when thought settles,

This arises.

Could you let go maybe of needing to seek or find it?

But in this last moment,

Just opening up to the fact that perhaps it exists.

And as you do,

You begin to feel a softening taking place,

A letting go of needing to control so much to be okay.

Just resting here for just a bit.

And whenever you feel ready,

Just allowing yourself to begin to bring your awareness to the connection between your body and the seat below you and behind you once more.

Becoming aware of this space that your body occupies in space.

Noticing the sounds around you in all directions.

And feeling the sensation of gravity holding you down into your space.

Placing yourself behind your eyes.

Placing yourself inside of your body.

And just noticing that you are on the earth.

At your own pace,

Taking three long,

Slow,

Quiet,

Deep inhales and exhales.

In through the nostrils,

Out through the mouth,

Letting everything go.

And whenever you feel ready,

Just beginning to circle the hands and move the wrists.

Circling the feet and moving the ankles and just transitioning into stretching or moving any parts of your body that feel ready to stretch or move.

And whenever you feel ready,

You can go ahead and open your eyes.

If I can get to place where Iโ€™m ok no matter what my external circumstances are, I can then begin to look for solutions to any struggles I may be having without fear of blinding me or closing me off from said solutions. I love this meditation. It is extremely helpful
