When we stop being curious, we are likely to crush future possibilities. When we think we know all there is to know, on any subject, we close the door to wonder and astonishment. Whenever we are adamant that ‘we know’, we are often living in the past, and our decisions are based on circumstances, occurrences and conclusions that happened then.....not now! We are frozen in our own history, which limits our ability to awaken to the extraordinary and the mysterious. Awaken!

Welcome to this mindfulness practice as we focus on the quality of curiosity.

When you stop being curious you are likely to crush future possibilities and progress.

When you think you know all there is to know on any subject you close the door to wonder and astonishment.

How often have you realized that you haven't really known?

How often are you prepared to use the words I don't know?

Whenever we are adamant that we know we are often living in the past and our decisions are based on circumstances,

Occurrences and conclusions that happened then,

Not now.

We are frozen in our own history which limits our ability to awaken to the extraordinary and the mysterious.

Approach your mindfulness practice with the clarity,

Observation and focus of a small child observing life subjects and objects for the first time.

When we are learning with a beginner's attitude our minds are open,

Spacious and empty,

Ready to welcome the new.

Observe what comes into your mind with curiosity,

No preconceived ideas.

Just notice what evolves,

Allow yourself the freedom to explore,

To immerse yourself in the depth and power of observation and stillness and notice how much more relaxed you become.

Whether you are sitting down or lying down doesn't matter,

Just ensure you are in a quiet space and you are warm,

A soothing environment is all that you need.

Cover yourself in a light wrap or blanket for security and ease.

Softly close your eyes and gently roll your head from side to side with full awareness,

Relaxing the back of the neck,

The throat and the shoulders.

Open out through the chest as though your heart is reaching out to the farthest corner of the room and imagine you are softening your whole body just with the breath.

The eyes can be either softly closed or open and if they are open simply rest them on whatever is in front of you without really thinking about what you can see.

Become aware of the fact that you are breathing,

Become aware of the movement of the breath as it flows into and out of the body.

Feel the breath as it comes into the body and as it leaves the body.

A little while ago of all that may be taking your attention,

Allowing yourself to simply be here in the present moment,

Simply present,

Simply being,

Simply resting.

Breath flowing through your being,

Sensations in the body,

Sounds,

Thoughts,

Air.

All of it coming and going,

Coming to you,

Allowing all of it,

Dropping into being,

Into stillness,

Present with everything as it unfolds,

Complete as you are,

Whole.

Simply remain aware of the breath flowing in and flowing out,

Not manipulating the breathing in any way,

Simply being aware of it and noticing how it feels.

Slow the breath down,

Expand the breath,

Watch the breath.

When your mind wanders off and will over and over,

Simply return to the breath.

Imagine you are floating on the waves of breath,

Floating.

Be with this flow of breath entering and leaving the body,

Gently,

Peacefully,

Fully.

I am relaxing my breath.

I am relaxing my breath.

My breath is relaxed.

I am relaxing my mind.

I am relaxing my mind.

My mind is relaxed.

I am relaxing my body.

I am relaxing my body.

My body is relaxed.

The breath naturally breathes itself.

We don't need to change it in any way,

Just to give it full attention.

Whenever you become distracted,

Preoccupied or restless and notice you have drifted off into the past or the future,

Anchor your mind to the breath,

Anchor your breath to the present.

I shall remain silent for a little while as you come into the moment and allow this calm permeate every aspect of your being.

You will hear my voice soon again.

Enjoy.

Keep moving your awareness to this very deep place inside of you,

This inner sanctuary.

Breathing in.

Breathing out.

Nothing to hold.

Nothing to carry.

Nothing to burden you.

Just letting go.

Feel this healing breath deep down in your pelvis.

Inhaling,

Exhaling.

There is breathing in your belly as it rises and falls with the breath.

Rises,

Falls,

Falls.

Tension releasing.

Keep moving your awareness to this very deep place inside,

This inner sanctuary,

This place of rest and peace where all the cares of the world seem far away,

With absolutely nothing to do or to think about.

This state of quiet being.

Being in your body.

Be.

Gently draw your hands now towards your heart center.

Rest them there.

Scan your entire body and be aware of where you are feeling peaceful and notice if you are feeling joyful.

Remember to slow down.

Come into the present.

Watch.

Observe with curiosity.

Adopt a beginner's mind.

I see through sparkling eyes.

I love with a fresh heart.

I learn with a curious mind.

I believe in a more dazzling world.

I seek the child within.

The one that lives in a state of wonder.

Be curious.

Observe.

Explore.

Observe.

Explore.

Om Shanti Shanti Shanti.

Peace.

Peace.

Peace.

Love the little qualifier at the beginning of the quiet moment, actually sense some natural curiosity in me now, and was able to experience it somatically. It also helps that your voice sounds trained to talk to horses.

Really like this idea of returning to our curiosity. Indeed, in our childhood we all where the most curious and this sometimes just stop through our life. I'm gonna keep this thoughts through this days, Annemaree and see where it leads me. Tell me, what are you curious about this days (and yes, last time i did asked and i do it again 😅). Thank you for being here with your voice, have a beautiful day (:

Beautiful as always 🙏 your voice is absolutely wonderful. If I try to listen to any other meditations here on insight timer it feels frustrating that the voices are too sharp, now that I know how good your voice sounds. You made it harder for me to find something good here, but also gave me the gift of meditation :)

Beautiful. Your meditation reminds me of watching my two youngest granddaughters as they experience new things in life that are so ordinary for me. It might be the way bubbles float on air, the sight of the bluebirds feeding their babies, deer in our yard (eating my roses), a ride on the carousel or whatever experience they are having maybe for the first time. The excitement and curiosity; the pure joy and their laughter or wonder as they are totally present in that moment of life. What would it be like to see the world with the same curiosity, open minds unclouded by the past and not concerned about the future. Simply enjoying the present.
