Welcome,
Warrior.
Welcome to this practice of yoga nidra.
Find your way into savasana,
Lying on your back with your body fully supported by the earth.
But today,
As you lie here,
You're not collapsing into rest you're choosing it.
This is a difference.
A warrior knows when to fight and when to lay down arms.
A warrior knows that true strength includes the courage to be soft.
Allow your legs to fall open,
Your arms to rest alongside your body,
Palms up.
This open position is not vulnerability,
It's fearlessness.
Only the truly brave can be this open.
Adjust your body as needed.
Get comfortable.
A warrior takes care of their vessel,
Honors their body as the instrument through which they move through the world.
Close your eyes,
And as you do so,
Feel yourself gathering,
Collecting your energy,
Your focus,
Your power.
Not scattered,
But centered.
Not reactive,
But ready.
Every warrior needs a code,
A vow.
Perhaps it's,
I am brave,
Or I stand in my power,
Or I protect what matters.
Let this vow arise from deep within,
From your belly,
From your bones,
From the part of you that has always been fierce.
And repeat it three times,
Feeling it land like an oath.
This is who you are.
This is what you stand for.
Bring your awareness to your breath.
Not just any breath,
The warrior's breath,
Strong,
Steady,
Intentional.
Inhale deeply through your nose,
Feeling your belly expand,
Your ribcage widen,
Your chest rise.
This is the breath that fuels you.
This is the breath that releases what doesn't serve you.
Continue breathing this way.
With each inhale,
You're gathering strength,
Courage,
Resolve.
With each exhale,
You're releasing fear,
Doubt,
And hesitation.
A warrior's breath is not rushed or shallow,
It's deep,
Anchored,
And powerful.
Your breath is your foundation.
Your breath is your weapon against chaos.
Breathe like you know who you are.
Breathe like you trust yourself.
Breathe like you are unshakable.
Now we'll journey through the body systematically,
Bringing warrior awareness to each part.
As I name each body part,
Bring your attention there briefly,
Then release and move on.
This is the warrior's practice of presence,
Focused,
Steady,
And complete.

Now,
In your mind's eye,
Imagine yourself standing on a vast open plain.
The landscape stretches in all directions,
Rugged,
Beautiful,
And wild.
This is your territory.
This is where you fought your battles,
Won your victories,
And survived your defeats.
You're wearing armor,
But it's not heavy metal.
It's made of light,
Of energy,
Of all the strength you've cultivated.
It protects you,
But it doesn't weigh you down.
In your hand is a weapon,
But look closely.
It might be a sword,
But it might be a staff,
A shield,
A flame,
A word.
Your weapon is uniquely yours.
It's forged from your truth,
Your boundaries,
Your voice.
You begin to walk across this plain with each step,
Remembering the battles you fought,
Some against external forces,
Some against yourself.
The times you stood up when it would have been easier to stay down.
The times you said yes to life even when life had said no to you.
The times you protected someone who couldn't protect themselves.
The times you protected yourself.
As you walk,
You see markers on the landscape.
Stones,
Monuments,
Symbols.
Each one represents a moment of courage.
Stop at one.
What battle does this commemorate?
Maybe it was the day you left what was hurting you.
Maybe it was the day you spoke your truth.
Maybe it was the day you chose yourself.
Honor this moment.
Bow to your courage.
Continue walking ahead of you.
The terrain changes.
There's a mountain rising from the plain.
This mountain represents your next challenge.
The battle yet to come.
Maybe you know what it is.
Maybe you don't.
You begin to climb.
The path is steep and your breath grows heavy.
Your legs burn.
There are moments you want to stop,
Turn back,
Give up.
But a warrior's heart beats in your chest and a warrior doesn't quit.
A warrior adapts,
Perseveres,
Finds another way.
Halfway up the mountain you find a cave.
Stepping inside to rest and there,
In the center of the cave,
Is a fire.
Sit by this fire.
Feel its warmth.
As you stare into the flames,
A figure appears on the other side of the fire.
This is your warrior guide.
An ancestor,
A teacher,
A future version of yourself.
They've walked this path before.
They know what you're facing.
They look at you with eyes of recognition and they speak.
You have everything you need.
You always have.
Your strength is not something you have to earn.
It's your birthright.
But remember this.
A warrior's greatest strength is knowing when to fight and when to make peace.
Knowing when to be hard and when to be soft.
Knowing when to draw your sword and when to extend your hand.
They reach into the fire and they pull out something glowing,
Something bright.
Handing it to you as a gift.
Something you may need for the journey ahead.
Look at it.
What is it?
Courage?
Clarity?
Compassion?
Wisdom?
Humor?
Whatever it is,
Receive it.
Place it into your heart.
Your warrior guide nods.
Now,
Finish the climb.
I will be with you.
You rise and leave the cave,
Continuing up the mountain.
The summit is closer now.
Your breath is steady,
Your legs strong.
Finally,
Reaching the top.
And from this height,
You can see everything.
The plain behind you,
The battles fought,
The distance traveled and ahead.
Stretching to the horizon is possibility.
You raise your weapon,
Your sword,
Your voice,
Your truth.
And you roar,
Not in anger,
But in declaration.
I am here.
I am strong.
I am ready.
And the sound echoes across the landscape.
And in that echo,
You hear others' voices joining.
All the warriors who've come before you.
All the ones who will come after.
You're never alone.
And now,
We descend the mountain with ease.
Returning to the plain,
Walking back to where we began.
But different now.
We carry the fire,
The gift,
The knowing.
You remove your armor,
Not because you're weak,
But because you're strong enough to be vulnerable.
You lay down your weapon,
Not because you surrender,
But because you trust in your ability to pick it up if needed.
And you rest.
Because a warrior knows rest is not weakness,
It's how we survive to fight another day.
Rest is strategic.
Rest is sacred.
Return to your sankalpa,
Your warrior's vow,
Your intention,
Your oath.
And repeat it three times now and feel how much more true it is than when you began.
You remember who you are.
Begin to deepen your breath.
Feeling the strength returning to your body,
The fire rekindling in your belly.
Wiggling your toes and fingers.
Stretching like a warrior waking from restorative sleep.
And when you're ready,
You'll roll to one side and press yourself up.
Bring your hands to your heart and bow to the warrior within.
To the one who has survived everything so far.
And to the one who will continue.
Thank you for your courage.
Thank you for your strength.
Thank you for your heart.
Namaste.
