All right,
Finding your seat.
And as you find your seat,
Noticing your posture,
If your feet are flat on the floor,
You may think of a string pulling you from the top of your head upwards.
Just assuming an upright and alert posture,
Nothing too rigid.
And see if you can allow yourself to become still,
Letting the dust settle,
And noticing what your energy is like in this moment.
Are you excited or tired?
Noticing the sensation of having a body.
Noticing where in your body you notice tension or pressure.
Scanning from your toes up to the top of your head,
Allowing a little release,
Relaxation,
Or pressure,
Anywhere you're able to.
And just noting areas where you're not able to.
Notice the feeling of your feet on the floor,
The feeling of your body in the chair,
The sensation of breathing,
And how your body moves and adjusts as you breathe.
Notice the quality of your breathing.
Are you breathing shallow or deep,
Fast or slow?
It's not necessary to change anything,
But simply notice.
Noticing the quality of your mind.
Is your mind racing or still?
Are your thoughts in the past?
Or the future?
How do you feel about what you notice?
Is there a mood present?
A feeling,
Boredom,
Sadness,
Joy?
As you notice these things in your body,
In your mind,
In your heart,
Offering them a name,
Thinking,
Anger,
Fatigue,
Sore muscle,
Whatever it is,
Offering it a name and allowing it to be here.
You can help allow it to be here by becoming curious.
What is this?
This feeling,
This thought,
What is this?
Is there anything else here?
What else is true?
You might take this opportunity to readjust your posture,
To take another long,
Deep breath in through your nose and out through your mouth.
Readjust your posture and begin again as if for the first moment,
Paying close attention to your inhale and your exhale and then allowing yourself to find stillness yet again,
Allowing the dust to settle and fully arriving.
