Welcome to this gentle healing meditation for tinnitus relief.
This practice combines the soothing Betty Erickson method of relaxation with specific healing suggestions for those experiencing tinnitus.
You'll be guided through a natural process of becoming aware of your surroundings before moving into a deeply relaxed state where healing can occur.
There's no need to try to make anything happen,
Simply listen and allow yourself to follow along at your own pace.
Find a quiet,
Comfortable place where you won't be disturbed.
As you settle into a comfortable position,
I invite you to begin noticing three things you can see,
Taking your time to observe each one carefully.
Now notice three things you can hear besides the tinnitus,
Again taking your time to really notice all you can notice about each of the sounds.
And now become aware of three things you can feel,
Perhaps the texture of your clothing or the temperature of the air,
You decide.
Moving deeper now,
Notice two things you can see.
They can be the same or different than before.
Two things you can hear,
Again besides the tinnitus.
And two things you can feel.
And now,
Just one thing you can see.
One thing you can hear beyond the sound.
And one thing you can feel.
Allowing your eyes to close now if you wish.
As you continue to relax more deeply,
Imagine there's a healing light entering your body,
A soothing,
Comfortable energy that knows exactly where to go.
This healing light gradually moves toward the areas where you experience the sound.
Not fighting it,
Not resisting it,
Just allowing the light to surround those areas with gentle,
Healing energy.
And as this healing light surrounds those areas,
You might notice how the sound begins to shift,
Perhaps becoming softer or moving into the background,
Like the gentle sound of waves on a distant shore.
Your unconscious mind knows exactly how to adjust this sound,
How to help you find greater comfort,
Greater peace.
And you might be surprised to discover that just as you can adjust the volume on a radio,
Your mind can learn to adjust its attention to focus on what's important,
Allowing other sounds to fade naturally into the background.
Each time you practice this,
You strengthen your ability to find this peaceful state,
This comfortable relationship with sound.
And when you're ready to return to full waking consciousness,
You may notice that your mind is more relaxed.
And when you're ready to return to full waking consciousness,
You'll bring back this new understanding,
This new ability,
To adjust your relationship with sound.
Counting now.
1.
Becoming more alert.
2.
Energy returning to your body.
3.
Your mind becoming more alert.
4.
Your mind becoming more alert.
5.
Your mind becoming more alert.
6.
Your mind becoming more alert.
7.
Eyes opening,
Fully awake and refreshed,
Bringing this healing with you.
And remember that you can come back here and repeat this whenever you like.
No two sessions will ever be quite the same,
So healing can come in different ways as you move forward.
