Sleep plays a vital role in our health and well-being and having a restful sleep allows our cells and tissues to repair. It keeps our immune system strong and optimal. In this practice, allow yourself to drift away into dreamland by gently bringing awareness to parts of your body, allowing all tension to dissolve away.

Hello and welcome to the soothing sleep series here on Insight Timer.

My name is Nee and it's a pleasure to be here with you,

Completing this beautiful day together.

Sleep plays a vital role in our health and wellbeing and having a restful sleep allows our cells and tissues to recover and repair.

It keeps our immune system strong and our emotional health optimal.

A few ways to promote healthy sleep is to go to bed early at a similar time each day.

Avoid using technology at least one hour before bed.

Making sure you don't go to sleep on an empty belly.

Light up some candles in your space.

Lather yourself in essential oils.

Listen to soft relaxing frequency music.

Read a book or do a sleep meditation just as you are right now.

Now please take a moment to get comfortable laying down on your back in your warm cozy bed or couch.

Placing a bolster underneath your knees to support your back if you need.

Placing your hands by your side facing up to receive or facing down to ground into mother earth.

Or if you feel cold,

You can place your hands on your heart.

Feeling into what is best for you in this moment.

Making sure that you are super comfortable and ready to drift off into dreamland.

So once you are super settled,

Just bring your awareness to your breath.

And just notice the way that you are breathing in this moment.

How can you gently slow down your breath with each inhale and exhale.

Letting go.

Letting go.

Letting go.

Gently relaxing.

Dissolving into the earth beneath you.

And now I'd invite you to gently focus on your heart space and set an intention for your sleep this evening.

And now completely surrender into all that is allowing yourself to fully let go.

Now we are going to do a body scan together.

And as we do the scan of your body,

I'd invite you just to notice if anything comes up during the scan.

If there's any pain or discomfort or any feelings,

How can you soften into that experience?

How can you just soften and just say thank you?

Thank you for showing up for me in this moment.

And I choose to let you go.

So let's start from the bottom of your feet.

From your toes.

Bringing all of your awareness to this space.

And now just gently moving up to your ankles.

To your calves.

To your knees.

Thighs.

And up to your hips.

Your hips tend to hold a lot of tension from sitting all day.

Just allow your legs to softly roll outwards.

And just breathe into your hip joints.

Feel it opening up.

Releasing tension.

Letting go.

Letting go.

Letting go.

And now just gently feel an energy moving up to your spine.

From the base of your spine.

Moving up to your belly button.

To your diaphragm.

To the back and to the front.

Surface of your belly.

And just gently up to your lower ribs.

Your middle ribs and upper ribs.

And within your ribs lies your chest cavity.

Encasing your lungs.

And within this centre,

This space,

Lies the portal of your soul.

Your heart.

The space of pure unconditional love and compassion.

How does your heart feel in this moment?

Notice what your heart is communicating to you.

Now gently bringing your awareness up from your heart to your collarbones.

Moving outwards to your left and right shoulder.

And down your upper arms to your elbows.

Forearms.

Wrists.

Hands.

Your palms and your fingers.

Now bring your awareness all the way through up your arms to your neck.

Your thyroid sitting just in front of your neck there.

And moving up your neck to your jaw.

Cheeks.

Lips.

Nose.

Ears.

Eyes.

Forehead.

And sitting just in between your eyebrows is your third eye.

And within this space is your pineal gland.

The portal to higher dimensions.

Higher aspects of you.

And then gently bringing your awareness to the back of your head,

The base of your skull.

And now just visualize an upside down pyramid funneling through.

Golden white light,

Loving energy from the cosmos pouring down through your body.

All the way through around your face,

Neck,

Chest,

Arms,

Belly,

Hips,

Legs.

All the way down to your feet.

Encasing you with its divine light,

With its healing,

Loving energy.

Now allow yourself to gently rest in this space,

Within a space of pure emptiness.

Floating on a blanket full of stars.

You are free.

You are at ease.

You are guided.

You are supported.

You are so loved.

Because you are an embodiment of love itself.

Now allow yourself to drift off completely into the void,

Into dreamland.

One who has never zoomed in.
