Hey,

This is Nawal,

Your life coach.

Welcome to This Is Gold,

A cozy,

Kind,

And caring space where I will be sharing weekly thoughts and learnings about our fascinating and unlimited inner world.

My intention here is to get you thinking,

Questioning,

And challenging yourself and your beliefs,

And making space for a better quality of life.

So hop in and let's discover together today's topic.

For this first podcast,

I wanted to start with a very powerful statement brought to our attention by Wayne Dyer that really shapes,

In my opinion,

An important approach to life,

And that I have personally used consistently to navigate high seas.

So here it is.

If you change the way you look at things,

The things you look at change.

Let me repeat.

If you change the way you look at things,

The things you look at change.

In fact,

You must have heard and even said,

I'm sure many times,

That it's all a matter of perspective,

Isn't it?

It's all about how we see things.

So if I had to rephrase,

If you cannot change things,

Change the way you see them.

It sounds so simple and so powerful at the same time.

So let's start with why do we see things in a certain way,

And why two people can be looking at the same object or situation and may have different opinions or reactions about it?

Well,

It's all about our conditioning.

Indeed,

From a young age,

We are conditioned.

We're conditioned by our parents,

Conditioned by our teachers,

People we look up to,

And we're conditioned as well by our culture,

Our religion,

Our society,

Our whole environment.

We are conditioned about so many things about who we are,

How to think,

How to behave,

What to value.

So everything in life is defined by our perception of things,

Right?

And by the way,

This conditioning continues throughout our lives,

With media,

Marketing,

Social groups,

Impactful experiences,

Even as an adult,

It doesn't stop.

So we have basically been trained or programmed to act or react in specific ways.

And nothing is wrong with that in principle,

If we are aligned with it,

If we are living a joyful and peaceful life.

However,

If we're not,

And are often facing situations or interactions where negative emotions arise,

So negative emotions such as disappointment,

Anger,

Anxiety,

Stress,

Then we must make changes,

Right?

All right,

So let me ask you something first.

In which world do you want to live?

A friendly,

Loving,

Peaceful one?

Or in a hostile,

Conflictual,

Frustrating,

Judgmental one?

It really comes down to this.

Your perception of the world is what creates your life experience.

So making changes is not only for the obvious reasons that,

Of course,

No one would want to experience negative emotions,

But also because when we are in a negative state,

Something crippling actually happens in our body.

See,

Our brain frontal lobe that manages our thinking,

Emotions,

Judgment,

Self-control,

And many more vital functions actually shuts down,

As well as our digestive and immune system.

How crazy is that?

So basically,

In these negative states,

We are incapable of making wise decisions or solving any problem.

And we are most likely to have negative behaviors too.

And that's why you will see people losing their temper,

Overacting,

Shouting,

Or yelling,

Or even physically fighting,

Or feeling trapped,

Powerless,

Depressed.

So let's see now how to change the way we look at things.

So when the matter is to focus on the how to look at things,

This primarily means that what we are looking at through the person or situation is not as important as the way we are looking at it.

The way,

The manner is more important than the thing itself.

In other words,

The meaning we are giving it is the crucial part.

And we know that the whole word and all its components are meaningless until we give them a meaning.

As we said,

We don't see reality how it is,

We see it how we are.

And this is our perception of the words.

So things have only one meaning,

The meaning we give it.

So it's all up to us to define it the way we want.

And we know that in life we cannot control the events,

But we can control their meaning.

Let's take a moment to let this sink in.

Things have only one meaning,

The meaning we give it.

And this applies to anything,

So people behaviors,

Life event,

Etc.

Let's explore together this very simple method to apply consistently and which will considerably change your perception of the things you would like to experience differently.

The change of your perception with this method will happen very quickly.

You just need to be consistent and genuine about it.

So first things first,

Self-awareness.

You need to check in,

You need to be aware of your emotions,

Feelings,

And identify them.

In our case here today,

We need to identify the negative ones.

And of course that's going to be very easy because our body is a wonderful vehicle of emotion and is very expressive.

It doesn't refrain from letting us know how we feel.

So listen to it.

So when a situation happens and you start feeling discomfort,

Anxiety,

Stress,

Or nervousness,

Take a moment to scan your body mentally.

Acknowledge the feeling,

Reflect on it,

And ask yourself,

What makes me choose to feel this way?

Because yes,

It's a choice.

It's your choice.

Then take a deep breath in by the nose and exhale slowly by the mouth.

And ask yourself,

Is the negativity of this situation or person real?

Is it real?

Or is it only my perception of it?

Is it really negative?

Is it entirely negative?

The goal here is to challenge your own beliefs about it by giving yourself consciously reasons that it is not,

Or at least not entirely.

Then try to identify one or more positive aspects of that person or situation and change the narrative,

The negative self-talk,

Because this is not you.

And expand your thinking beyond obvious visible reasons and go higher and higher,

As high as possible.

Explore different aspects of it,

All angles,

Try to understand,

Empathize until you find the positivity of it.

And give it a fair try.

You will see.

Of course,

There are many situations where you will not be able to do this on the spot while being in it.

However,

You can reflect on it later on and do the exercise to avoid the negative feeling next time facing it or facing a similar situation.

On the spot,

You can still identify the negative emotion,

Acknowledge it and choose not to react the way you would usually do.

And I'm sure that you will find very quickly more than one positive facet to it.

And know that a single positive aspect will action the shift inside of you and shake off that negative feeling and get back to being in control of your emotions.

All right,

Now that we have the positivity of this person or situation,

Say them mentally or out loud.

Say them with full awareness and great intentions,

Because these are your findings.

Be proud of yourself,

Feel the empowerment and lock them in mentally with another deep breath in.

Gently from the nose and exhale gently from the mouth.

Do it three times and then smile genuinely,

Gratefully.

And that's it.

You got it.

You will start experiencing a wonderful change to your perception of situations and people.

And this is just the beginning of a new journey to start changing certain aspects of your conditioning and always remaining in a resourceful state.

Repeat this method as often as needed,

Be flexible,

Do it consciously and do it with the great intention of turning things around.

So keep in mind that this can apply to any temporary or permanent situation and can be applied as well to existing ones that you would like to experience differently.

Once again,

We don't see reality how it is,

We see it how we are.

We are living in the path of our own thinking.

Our happiness doesn't depend on who we are or what we have,

It depends entirely on what we think.

So choose your thoughts wisely.

And remember the law of attraction that you know very well,

Seeing the negative in things and people will only attract the negative to you.

Furthermore,

The mind takes everything you think personally.

So for example,

Negative thoughts about a person will be taken personally by your mind.

So now let me give you an overview of how life results are rich.

Basically,

When we perceive life information,

When a new information gets in,

It goes through our conditioning,

Our internal program we talked about,

Which tells us how to feel about it,

What emotion to have to that situation or information.

So that emotion will lead us to a certain behavior,

Which will be an expression of how we feel.

Now that behavior will lead us to a result,

And our life is a succession of results.

So if we are not satisfied and would like to change the results or outcomes in our life or in an area of our life,

We must start by changing our conditioning.

So now let's look at the benefits of this method and of looking at things differently.

When you change the way you look at things,

First you will start very quickly feeling energized,

Because negative emotions drain precious energy from our daily life.

So you will feel lighter,

In control,

With a deep sense of self-empowerment.

Also,

You will cut mental limitations.

So you will set yourself free to explore,

To look at things wider,

To learn,

To grow.

When it comes to people and relationships,

You will find it easy to empathize,

As you will be able to understand someone's perspective,

Where the person is coming from.

It gives you the ability to see people in a much less judgmental way.

And all this will lead you to being in your unlimited potential mindset,

And you will enable yourself to respond to life events rather than react.

This will as well considerably influence towards a positive outcome on the overall events in your life,

And you will be in control of your emotions.

The fulfillment feeling of being in control of your emotions and having certainty that you will identify the good wherever it is,

And regardless of the situation,

Is a wonderful boost to your self-confidence,

And your well-being,

And your prosperity.

It is also the way to a peaceful and abundant life,

Which is nothing less than a clearer version of yourself,

As this is who you truly are.

You are limitless.

You have unlimited potential.

So imagine how powerful you are.

You can change your perception,

That means you can change your emotions,

Which means that you can change your behaviors,

And therefore your results.

All what you desire is already here,

You just need to remove the filters.

Everything in your life today is a result of decisions you decided to make or not in the past.

So everything that will be in your life tomorrow will be a result of decisions you decide to make or not today.

And remember,

Everyone is doing the best they can with the resources they have in the state they are in.
