Hi,
I'm Natasha Yusoff.
Welcome to Sitting in the Space Between Meditation.
We're going to sit between the thoughts,
Between the breath,
Between the beads on a yoga mala.
We're going to sink into a quiet space within ourselves.
Allow the mind to unravel and allow the body to relax.
If you have a mala you can use that.
The way to use your mala would be to hold the first bead between your fingers as you repeat the first word in your mind.
And as we invite the next word in you can move along to the second bead and then drop between the two beads,
Sitting with the knot,
Sitting in the gap.
And then we move back to the second bead onto the third bead.
And once again drop between the gap.
You don't need a mala for this meditation,
But it's nice if you have one.
Take a moment now to get comfortable.
Sit,
Lie,
Or find your favorite yoga posture.
Get comfortable.
Allow your spine to be supported and your head and neck nice and free.
Tune into your breath.
Feel the belly rise as you breathe in.
The belly fall as you breathe out.
Relax.
Relax your facial muscles,
Your jaw,
Your eyes,
That space between your eyebrows.
Soften,
Breathe,
Relax.
We're going to use the words I am in this meditation.
Bring your awareness to your breath,
That gentle easy breath.
No effort,
No force.
Relax.
I'd like you to invite the word I onto the screen of your mind.
I.
How does that feel?
I.
And now think about the word am.
And now think about the word am.
Bring that into view in your mind's eye.
Am.
And now I'd like you to drop between the two words.
Sit in between I and am.
Sit in that space.
Sit in that space.
Sit in that space.
And now we're going to use the word am.
The syllables A-U-M as our japa mantra.
Japa is the repetition of a word.
You can repeat it out loud,
You can repeat it softly like a whisper,
Or you can repeat it in your mind.
Take a deep breath.
A-U-M.
Allow those vibrations to settle in around you.
Come back to the word am.
Invite that back to the screen of your mind.
Peaceful.
Bring the word peaceful into your mind's eye.
See it.
Feel it.
And now drop between the word peaceful and am.
Sit in that space,
That gap.
Japa.
Japa.
A-U-M.
Peaceful.
Invite that word back into the screen of your mind.
Feel it once more.
And now invite the word I back onto the screen of your mind.
And drop between the word I and the word peaceful.
A-U-M.
I am.
Sit between the word am and I once more.
A-U-M.
Feel the vibrations of your am.
The sound of creation.
The universal sound.
The hum and the air around us.
Inviting am back to your internal screen.
See the word or feel the word.
Light.
Bring the word light into your being.
Sit with it for a moment and invite yourself to drop between the word light and am.
Into that space of quiet contemplation.
A-U-M.
Light.
I and light.
Drop between I and light.
A-U-M.
And sit again between the words I and am.
A-U-M.
Bring the words I am together.
I am.
Allow those words to appear on the screen of your mind.
Sit between the words I and am.
I am.
Grateful.
A-U-M.
Grateful.
I am.
Love.
Bring the word love onto the screen of your mind.
Feel it.
Allow that word,
That feeling to expand.
And now slip between love and I am.
A-U-M.
Sit with the sound,
The vibrations.
I am joy.
Joy.
Bring joy into your being,
Into your mind's eye.
And quietly slip between the word I am and joy.
A-U-M.
Feel it.
I am.
Strong.
Drop between I am and strong.
A-U-M.
I am abundant.
Bring abundance into your being.
Print that word across the screen of your mind.
Abundant.
Feel it.
And quietly slip between I am and abundant.
Into that silence,
Into the gap.
A-U-M.
Sit in this space.
Feel the emptiness and the fullness at the same time.
Empty of fears,
Doubts,
Worries.
Full of love,
Abundance,
Peace.
And find those words I am once more.
Unlimited.
Watch that word dance across the screen of your mind.
Feel it.
Unlimited.
Slip into that gap.
A-U-M.
I am.
Enough.
Sit between those words I am and enough.
Be still.
A-U-M.
Enough.
I am kind.
A-U-M.
Kind.
Allow that peace to sink into every cell of your body.
Allow it to permeate your prana,
Your life force.
Take a deep breath in.
Exhale through the mouth.
Another deep breath in through the nose.
Out through the mouth.
Gently opening your eyes when you're ready.
Namaste.
Thank you for joining me on this little journey.
You can use this meditation anywhere and everywhere.
You can use that japa mantra of Aum out loud,
Quietly or even silently.
Eventually,
Sit with this meditation without me and allow your own words to come to you.
Allow them to be positive,
Uplifting and joyful.
Namaste.
