Hello and thank you for joining me today.
We are going to be practicing today with a grounding practice and so I would love to invite you to find a quiet and comfortable space and a position where you can either sit or lay down with a strong spine and a soft open heart.
And as you settle yourself into this position,
I invite you to close your eyes if it feels safe for you.
Alternatively,
You can also lower your gaze and start to connect with the natural rhythm of your breath.
And as you meet your breath,
Take a moment to feel the earth beneath you and settle into your body with each inhale and with each exhale.
Take a moment to scan the body from the top of your head,
Down to your throat,
Into your heart space,
Down to your hips,
Down your legs,
Into your ankles and into your feet.
And if you witness any aches or pains,
Possibly some tension,
Sense some love through your breath to these parts of your body.
Once you settled into your body,
Let's begin to breathe deeply here.
Inhale powerfully through the nose and exhale release let it all go.
Another inhale powerfully through the nose and fill your heart,
Fill your belly,
Exhale release let it all go.
Again one final deep inhale through your nose and hold it at the top and exhale release let it all go.
You can start to dance with the natural rhythm of your breath.
And as you inhale,
I invite you to witness how your breath feels as it enters your body.
And as you exhale,
Witness what it feels like as it leaves your body.
Notice each inhale and notice each exhale.
Is your breath soft?
Is it smooth?
Do you feel any rigidness?
Just notice and observe in this moment without any judgment.
We're not here for perfection.
We are here to ground ourselves in this moment.
And so allow yourself to witness the natural rhythm of your everyday breath.
And as you continue with the natural rhythm of your breath,
Gently bring your awareness to the parts of your body that are making contact with the earth.
See if you can feel the connection between your body and the floor beneath you.
And in this connection between body and earth,
I welcome you to imagine roots growing from this place reaching down into the earth below.
These roots from your body grounding you into this present moment.
And with each breath,
Visualize these roots growing stronger and deeper anchoring you firmly to the ground.
And as you continue to breathe,
Picture a warm golden light rising up through the roots,
Filling your body with a sense of stability and strength.
With each inhale,
Allow this light to rise up through the roots into your body.
And with each exhale,
Send that light throughout your entire body,
Grounding you firmly into this moment.
And witness any sensations that arise as you continue connecting with the earth beneath you.
There may be a possibility that you feel a sense of heaviness in your limbs,
Or a tingling sensation in your feet.
Whatever your individual experience may be,
Simply observe it.
And allow yourself to be fully present and grounded in this moment.
And if your mind starts to wander,
Gently bring your attention back to your breath and the feeling of being rooted to the earth beneath you.
It is quite natural for our thoughts to come and go,
But we have the power to return back to the present moment at any time.
So I invite you to take a deep inhale here through the nose and hold it at the top.
And exhale,
Release,
Let it all go.
Soaking into this feeling of grounding and stability.
As our practice starts to come to its completion,
I want you to know that you can always turn to this practice whenever you have a desire to feel centered and connected.
Our days tend to get the best of us,
And we have the opportunity to bring ourselves back into a place of grounding.
So when it feels right for you,
I invite you to gently start to bring some awareness back to your body by offering it some movement.
You can wiggle your toes or your fingers.
You can roll your ankles.
Start to bring yourself back into your space.
And if you had your eyes closed,
You can gently open them.
Take a moment to witness your surroundings and see how they might differ from when we first started this practice.
Then before we say goodbye,
I invite you to take a gesture that feels most comfortable to you.
This could be palms together,
Hands on heart,
Hands on your face,
Or your left hand on your heart,
And your right on your tummy.
Any gesture that feels most authentic to you.
And take this moment to hold gently the sweet fruits of this practice and know that you can carry this feeling of grounding with you as you continue throughout your day.
Thank you for practicing with me today,
Friends.
See you next time.
