Welcome to the fifth episode on balanced business.

Today we are tackling conscious leadership and people-centric business.

And we often hear that people make business,

People are business,

Put people first,

All these taglines,

But do we really follow them?

So what is it to be a conscious and humanitarian leader that keeps humans at the forefront of their value map?

It starts with attracting the right team and if you are only anticipating this day when you hire the first employee,

Then allow me to wish you luck and strengthen your intuition to attract the best people.

And if you are already a leader of a team,

Then I hope that you have ever-deepening connection with them and it doesn't matter really at which stage you start.

You can always slowly but surely introduce true values that you hold into your business and get people to to know you from a deeper level and then those who are attuned,

Who are together with you on this path of purpose,

They will stay,

Maybe some will go and be replaced by people who are most in line with what your messaging and purpose is.

So hiring should be value-oriented.

This is the first and key rule before checking a person's qualifications.

You need to check if they are aligned with the values of your business that you already should know very well and don't just rely on what's written in their CV.

Take time to have a mindful conversation,

To speak about life experiences,

Real situations and always make use of the probationary period when you get to work with the person before you confirm your commitment mutually to have a long-term work relationship with them.

Then when you are maintaining your team as a leader,

You need to show and demonstrate and set the example for the values that you are preaching through your business.

You need to transmit them to your team with every action,

With the way that you speak and hold discussions,

With the way you treat your clients and partners,

With the way that you shape your business offerings.

It needs to be sincere,

It has to be brave and vulnerable and open if you want to have the soulful business,

Business that is truly connected to your life mission and purpose.

And since it is a co-creation,

You need to invite your team into setting these goals and intentions into formulating the values and the mission.

And of course it depends on the size of your team and on your structure.

Maybe not everyone can participate directly in decision-making,

Maybe they are not ready for it,

Maybe it is too much.

But at least you need to get people's feedback,

You need to run some questionnaires to see if people understand the values,

If people hold these values important.

And then you will know how aligned your team is.

These assessments can be done regularly,

For example,

When creating your sustainability report each year.

And we are going to talk about sustainability also in the next episode.

Maybe I will give you some practical tricks on how to combine the interests of people and nature and your economic interests in business.

So people are really the channel and the foundation of scaling your business and making it impactful.

You need to take care of them because they are your business.

And when you have created this value-based team,

You need to maintain it.

You need to give people space to reset their energy,

To be creative,

To also tap into the cycle of that creativity that we were discussing last time.

And the simplest way to do it is to hold some mindful sessions together,

Which I really enjoy doing at my workspace.

Simple meditations like a body scan or a visualization for successful completion of some project that you are having together.

And maybe some recreational sessions of listening to healing music,

Maybe a cacao ceremony together.

Anything that can connect you on this higher level.

And you can integrate these mindfulness practices into your team building activities,

But one doesn't equal another.

So team and community are two different things.

And if you have a team that works well together,

They play each one in their own position,

They know their interactions,

They're good at this communication.

It doesn't mean that they are a community.

Community is a group of people that share the same values.

Maybe not all of the values,

But some intersections,

Some core there is in common.

And they have practices,

A rhythm in common.

And you as a leader have the power to create this community in your business.

And then you will be rewarded with deeper connections to everyone you work with.

And as I said,

This is quite simple.

Just schedule these practices and open the door and let those who value it come to you and share this space with you.

And invite maybe some guide,

Someone who can help you through this process.

You don't have to always sit in the chair of facilitator.

You can invite a facilitator so that you can join your team and just be in this space together with them.

Maybe not everyone will really appreciate this format,

Especially if you haven't done it before and now you're just starting.

So of course always start small,

Just with maybe some mindful talk,

Maybe some regular meditation in shape of stress release practice.

And then slowly you can deepen the connection and understand who resonates with it and who doesn't.

And of course your biggest responsibility as a conscious leader is to maintain your own integrity and to be the first to do these practices.

Not to bypass,

Not to say that I already know everything and you guys just need to attune to the beautiful values that I've created.

No,

It is your work as much as everyone's and more than everyone's.

And it is your spiritual responsibility to be that leader who is the first in opening up,

In being sincere,

In overcoming this social anxiety,

The stereotypes,

The biases.

And thus you will free yourself and you will free other people to express themselves.

And always be there for the team when there is any kind of conflict.

Do not label it as bad conflict energies.

They can bring forth some revelations.

And if you are a business leader you can benefit from learning techniques of hold spacing,

Space holding,

I'm sorry,

Space holding and facilitation.

And then you will be equipped for guiding your team not only through the journey of economic success but also through the spiritual journey as much as you are willing to tap into it in your business.

Thank you and talk to you next time.
