Start by getting into a comfortable position,
Closing your eyes,
And letting go of any tension that you may be experiencing.
Next,
Bring your attention to your breath.
Inhale and exhale.
And as you do so,
Start to connect it to your awareness of your body.
The rise and fall of your chest,
The in and out of your belly.
Soften your eyes.
Notice any thoughts or emotions that you may be feeling.
Let the tensions of the day go.
Bring your attention back to the connection of your breath and your body.
Next,
Start to tune into the sensation you have in your body when you feel hunger.
How does that feel in your body?
How does it affect your mind?
What are the sensations you feel in your stomach?
If you were to eat something right now,
What would it be?
What color and shape is it?
What is the size?
What is the texture?
How does it smell?
Next,
Imagine that you're eating it.
Take a bite.
Chew it up.
Feel its flavor.
What does it taste like?
How does the food feel in your mouth?
What sensations are you experiencing as you eat it?
Take a moment here to remain mindful,
To feel and enjoy those sensations,
To truly appreciate the food you're consuming.
Slowly eat the food,
Notice any thoughts or emotions that you may be feeling.
Slowly eat the food,
Noticing all the thoughts and feelings and sensations that come to you as you chew and swallow.
Once you're finished eating,
Continue to breathe and stay present in this moment.
Keep the connection between your breath and your body.
Now start to think about the food you just ate and imagine what it took for it to get to you.
The sun,
The soil,
Water,
Time,
Processing,
Shipping,
Handling.
Next,
Send gratitude and love to every single person who was involved in the cultivation and preparation of that food.
And as you send gratitude towards them,
Continue to breathe and stay fully present in this moment.
Now,
As you prepare for the food,
You're going to feel the energy and the energy that you're eating.
Now,
As you prepare to come out of this meditation,
Set the intention that moving forward when you eat,
You will take the time to stay mindful as you do so.
You will appreciate the tastes and smells,
The shapes and textures of your food.
You will enjoy eating for the sake of eating and remain mindful when you do,
Knowing that what you eat nourishes your body,
Mind and spirit.
Now slowly start to wiggle your fingers and toes,
Blink open your eyes and take a big stretch overhead,
Ready to get back to your day while remaining mindful in the moment.
