Today,
We're going to work on forgiving ourselves and others.
So find a comfortable position,
Either sitting or lying down,
And softly close your eyes.
Take a deep breath in through your nose,
And slowly exhale through your mouth.
Let your body relax,
Releasing any tension you might be carrying.
Start to bring to mind someone you wish to forgive.
This may be yourself or another person.
Notice any emotions that arise when you think of them or yourself,
And notice those emotions without judgment.
Simply let them come up.
Breathe into them,
And allow yourself to just feel.
Now silently repeat these words to yourself,
I acknowledge my pain,
And I choose to let it go.
I release the weight of resentment,
And open my heart to peace.
I offer compassion to myself and to others.
And on your next inhale,
Imagine filling your heart with warmth and light.
With each exhale,
Visualize any tension or hurt dissolving.
Inhale warmth and light,
Exhale tension and hurt.
If forgiveness feels too difficult at this time,
Simply set the intention to soften,
And know that healing happens in its own time.
Now,
Take a final deep breath in,
And exhale slowly.
Feel that space you've created within yourself.
Whenever you're ready,
Gently blink open your eyes,
Carrying this sense of peace and release within you.
