This is a Yoga Nidra to help you connect to your inner seasons and find a sense of balance throughout these changes. Even in places that don’t have four seasons, some believe that our bodies move through a four-season cycle every month and even every day. Use the seasons as a guide to help you find balance, let go of attachments, and make space for change. Winter - A time of darkness & silence where we can take time to connect our intuitive nature. Spring - A time of renewal and transformation. Summer - A time of play & creativity. Fall - A time to appreciate what we have and find gratitude for how far we’ve come. This practice can be used to connect to self and to find rest at any time of the day. Let yourself be guided through and connect with the symbolism and different aspects of your inner seasons as well as the beautiful images of nature that represent different parts of the seasons. Music: Soft drone and voices by Natalie (aka Daughter of the Moon)

This is a yoga nidra to celebrate the seasons and celebrate change.

My name is Natalie and I'm so glad you're here.

I invite you now to get into a comfortable place and then start to allow your body to settle into stillness and to settle into the support beneath you.

You can start to take a slow,

Deep inhale through your nose all the way to the top and if it's okay for you to hold your breath,

Hold it here for a moment and very slowly out of your mouth begin to release that breath.

Start your inhale slowly filling up your chest,

Belly,

Back.

Holding for a moment at the top and then slowly,

Slowly releasing out of your mouth.

Last one,

Bring in that breath really slowly.

Holding at the top and then releasing extra slow.

Allow your body to sink down,

Allow tension to float away.

Feeling this support beneath you and let your breath become natural.

The symbolism of the seasons can be a guiding light,

They can hold our hands as we walk towards change.

We also experience our own seasons day to day,

Week to week and month to month.

The energy of winter symbolizes a time of intuition,

Of gaining insight,

Of settling into silence and rest.

And then the time of spring,

A time of change,

Of growth,

Where seeds are planted and change begins to manifest.

Summer,

A time of celebration,

A time of play,

A time of creativity and expression.

Autumn,

A time of harvest,

Of reflection,

A time of gratitude and appreciation for what we have,

For what we've done and how far we've come.

And whether you live in a place that has four seasons or not,

You can take the energies of these seasons and take note of how they manifest in your day to day life.

Allow your mind to think of an intention for your practice today,

A sankalpa,

Also known as a heart's vow.

If you have one that you like to work with,

You can use it,

Otherwise I invite you to use one of the following.

I am always changing.

I am free.

I am centered.

And once you've found the words that resonate with you,

Begin to embody those words and feel them for a moment,

As though they were true.

Bring your awareness now to your physical body.

Allow your awareness to slowly float from the top of your head down to your toes,

Beginning to see your body in a new light,

A body that is always changing,

Always evolving.

We'll move through a body scan.

Bring your full awareness to the space between your eyebrows,

Your third eye center.

You might visualize a flower or you can simply bring your awareness to that part of your body.

Now sense your whole body.

Sense your whole body and your natural breath.

Slowly walk into the depths of your consciousness,

Stepping into quiet.

Move past any thoughts,

Any stories,

Any feelings.

Walk deeper into the shadows,

Into the depths.

Allow space and silence in your thoughts,

Giving space for insights to arise.

From the depths of your consciousness,

Visualize a sun rising over a meadow.

Cherry blossoms falling.

A hummingbird drinking from a flower.

Tall grass moving in the breeze.

Fields of gold.

Thick white clouds floating by.

Raindrops rippling in water.

Colorful leaves falling.

The first frost of winter.

Snowflakes sparkling underneath a street lamp.

A dark starry night.

A warm fire crackling.

Birds singing at dawn.

An icicle melting.

The sun twinkling through the trees.

Trust your intuition and your consciousness to cultivate what it needs.

Trust it to begin to manifest your heart's intention.

Allow yourself to sink into the deepest depths of your consciousness,

Open to receive.

Take a moment to give your own body,

Your own mind some gratitude.

Gratitude in the unfolding of your own experience.

Gratitude in how far you've come on your own path.

Thank you for being with me today.
