This is a Yoga Nidra meditation to guide you to observe the changing nature of your consciousness.
Welcome,
My name is Natalie.
Take a moment now to get yourself into a comfortable position.
Give yourself the support that you need here.
Find warmth.
Allow your body to take any last adjustments or movements that you need.
As you settle in,
Begin to notice the sounds around you.
Become a witness to observe what's going on in the space around you.
Anything you hear,
Feel,
Smell.
Then begin to shift your awareness into your own body.
Becoming witness to what you're currently feeling,
What you're currently experiencing.
You might notice any tension in your body.
Any places of holding on.
You might notice places of softening.
Notice the rhythm of your breath gently falling into a natural rhythm.
Present in this moment.
Present as a witness.
Take a moment now to think of a sankalpa.
Also known as a heart's vow or a heart's intention for this practice today.
An I am statement.
If you have one that you like to use,
You could use it now.
Or I invite you to use one of the following.
I accept change in my life.
I am impermanent.
I am always changing.
Choose a sankalpa that resonates with you.
And then say it to yourself quietly three times.
With a sense of trust in the changing nature of your mind and your body and your consciousness.
Release the sankalpa.
Trust that it will manifest within you.
Bring your attention now to your eyes.
Softening the space around your eyes as you bring your awareness onto your eyelids.
The space behind your eyes.
Sense both temples.
Jaw.
Cheeks.
Nose.
Roof of the mouth.
Tongue.
Bottom of the mouth.
Lips.
Chin.
Neck.
Chest.
Right shoulder.
Elbow.
Wrist.

Sense your whole body.
Sense your body breathing naturally.
Releasing all control of breath.
Sense your body's natural rhythm.
Sense the air entering and exiting your nostrils.
Become aware of any thoughts.
Imagine any thoughts present could slow down.
Imagine any thoughts present could slow down.
Imagine any thoughts present could slow down.
And imagine your awareness could slowly sink down deeper into your consciousness.
And imagine your awareness could slowly sink down deeper into your consciousness.
Begin to visualize with your mind's eye a phoenix.
Imagine this phoenix from a distance.
Imagine this phoenix from a distance.
Imagine this phoenix from a distance,
Perched in darkness.
Imagine this phoenix from a distance,
Perched in darkness.
The red glow of its wings.
The phoenix begins to rise,
Spreading its wings wide.
The phoenix begins to rise,
Spreading its wings wide.
And suddenly,
It's engulfed in flames,
Lighting up the darkness around it.
And suddenly,
It's engulfed in flames,
Lighting up the darkness around it.
Shedding what it no longer requires.
Shedding what it no longer requires.
And turning to ashes in the darkness.
As you travel closer,
You see underneath the ash.
.
.
As you travel closer,
You see underneath the ash.
.
.
The eye of a baby phoenix,
Peeking up.
A chance to experience something new.
A chance to experience something new.
A chance to rewrite the stories.
Turning away from the phoenix.
In the darkness,
A small flame far away.
In the darkness,
A small flame far away.
A small flame guiding you where you need to go.
Follow this light.
Follow it with trust.
Observe the natural,
Changing nature of your own mind.
.
.
Observe the natural,
Changing nature of your own mind.
.
.
And your own consciousness in each moment.
A change has happened within you.
You've come closer to your own answers.
Receive the messages.
Allow any images to fade into darkness.
Allow any images to fade into darkness.
Here,
Witnessing,
Observing.
.
.
The delicate impermanence of each moment.
The delicate impermanence of each moment.
The universal truth,
All within you.
The universal truth,
All within you.
You can stay where you are,
Fade into sleep.
You can stay where you are,
Fade into sleep.
Or you can begin to become aware of your body,
Your breath.
Or you can begin to become aware of your body,
Your breath.
Acknowledging the journey and where you've come now.
Observing the natural,
Changing nature,
The impermanence.
.
.
And the beauty of being alive.
Thank you for being here with me.
And may peace be with you.
