Transcript
Gently preparing to lay your body down on the ground and allowing your legs to be comfortable stretching them out if the lower back is comfortable.
If you need to support the lower back,
Feel free to bend your knees and allow your palms to face up towards the sky,
To open up the chest.
And gently moving your neck from side to side to find a comfortable resting spot for your neck.
Let your throat be relaxed,
Your tongue relaxed.
And be aware of the weight of your whole body against the ground heavy.
And bring your awareness to the sounds that you might hear outside this room.
Just listening to the sounds outside.
And aware of the sounds within this room.
The sound of my voice.
The sound of your own breath.
And maybe even the sound of your own heartbeat.
Just listening to the soothing sounds within your body.
And observing the temperature of this room against the warmth of your skin.
And observing all your thoughts,
Feelings and emotions.
Imagine that you're watching them in a big screen in your inner mind.
Imagine that you're sitting in your favourite armchair,
Watching that screen in your mind.
The more you lean back and the more you sink into the warm,
Familiar comforts of your armchair,
The more detached you become from the thoughts on that screen.
Leaning back to let go.
Sinking into the warm,
Inviting comforts of your armchair as you watch that distant screen.
When you're ready to completely let go,
Just turn off that button and turn off that big screen in your inner mind.
Now you have a big,
Blank screen.
It's quiet and it's still.
Just enjoy the stillness for a moment.
The peace,
The quiet.
Feel that empty screen with a happy memory that you have.
From your childhood,
From your past or a recent memory.
A memory that fills your heart with joy,
Love,
Laughter and the feeling of pure bliss.
Just indulge in this joyful moment.
Enjoy.
Keeping these wonderful feelings in your heart,
Just repeat silently with me in your mind the positive affirmation.
Three times in your mind,
I make a positive resolve that I allow myself to achieve my best physical,
Mental and emotional health through the practice of yoga.
I make a positive resolve that I allow myself to achieve my best physical,
Mental and emotional health through the practice of yoga.
I make a positive resolve that I allow myself to achieve my best physical,
Mental and emotional health through the practice of yoga.
Allowing the resolve to sink deep into your consciousness,
To settle in your higher mind.
A resolve made in yoga nidra will most certainly materialise.
Just watch as it begins to unfold naturally in your life.
Be open to the positive transformations that are taking place in your life.
Be open to the subtle changes.
Be open to receive.
We move to awareness rotation to clear any knots,
Blockages,
To allow the free flow of circulation,
Oxygen and healing energy throughout your whole body.
Allowing the healing to begin.
Starting with your right thumb,
Feel,
Visualise,
Mentally name the right thumb.
Second finger,
Feel,
Visualise,
Mentally name the second finger.
Third,
Fourth,
Fifth,
All five fingers,
The palm of your hand,
Right wrist,
Arm,
Elbow,
Shoulder,
Right armpit,
Right side of your waist,
Right hip,
Thigh,
Knee,
Car,
Ankle,
Heel,
The sole of your foot,
Right big toe,
Second toe,
Third,
Fourth,
Fifth,
All five toes.
And you're aware of the whole right side of your body sinking deep into the ground heavy.
Have your left big toe,
Feel,
Visualise,
Mentally name the big toe.
Second toe,
Third,
Fourth,
Fifth,
All five toes,
The sole of your foot,
Left heel,
Ankle,
Car,
Knee,
Thigh,
Hip,
Left side of your waist,
Left armpit,
Shoulder,
Arm,
Elbow,
Wrist,
The palm of your hand,
Left thumb,
Second finger,
Third,
Fourth,
Fifth,
All five fingers.
Aware of the left side of your body sinking deep into the ground heavy.
Aware of your lower back,
Upper back,
Allowing your whole spine to melt further into the ground heavy from the neck down to the tailbone.
Aware of your right arm,
Left arm,
Both arms,
Right leg,
Left leg,
Both legs,
Right side of your body,
Left side of your body,
The front,
The back.
And now you're aware of your whole body,
The wholeness of your body.
You're in a state of conscious relaxation,
Yoga nidra,
Mind,
Body,
Completely at rest.
Muscles are relaxing,
Cells and your tissues healing,
Rejuvenating themselves.
As your physical body begins to relax,
Your higher mind is awakened and your body finds its way to heal itself,
Self-healing.
Your heart,
Lungs,
Liver,
Kidneys,
Digestive system,
Elimination system,
The reproductive organs,
The lymphatic system,
The glands,
The adrenal glands,
The thymus,
Thyroid,
Pituitary glands,
Pineal.
Working more efficiently,
Bringing fine balance to the body,
To your mind.
As you breathe in and out,
Your body becomes heavier and heavier,
Like a rock against the ground so heavy.
Your breath becomes slower,
More subtle,
And your relaxation becomes deeper and deeper.
Allow yourself to connect with the breath in your belly,
The rise and the fall of your belly,
The movement in your belly,
The rise and the fall with every breath,
To stay with the breath in your belly.
Count 18 as you inhale,
18 as you exhale,
17 inhale,
17 exhale,
16 inhale,
16 exhale,
Counting backwards to one,
The breath in your belly.
If you lose count,
Don't worry,
Just go back to 18,
Counting backwards to one,
The breath in your belly.
Guiding your awareness to the centre of your eyebrows,
That beautiful space between your eyes.
As you breathe in and out,
Your body becomes lighter and lighter,
So light,
So free,
Like a feather in the wind.
Your breath becomes slower,
More subtle,
And your relaxation becomes deeper and deeper.
Allow yourself to be thankful for all that you have in your life and around you.
Allow yourself to be grounded with gratitude.
Allow yourself to accept yourself for who you truly are,
To believe in yourself and to have complete faith in yourself.
Allow yourself to share this feeling of joy,
Peace,
Love and good health with all your loved ones,
Friends,
Family and the community around you.
Allow them to share and experience this blissful state that you're in.
Slowly bring your awareness to the weight of your body against the ground.
Allow yourself to be aware of your surroundings,
The warmth of your skin against the tingles temperature of this room.
Aware of the sound of your own breath and the sounds that you might hear within this room and the sounds outside this room.
Allow yourself to acknowledge all your thoughts,
Feelings and emotions.
Welcome them back and observe how calm and relaxed your mind and your heart feel.
With your eyes closed,
Gently begin to move your fingers and your toes.
Gently guiding your hands above your head to give yourself a wonderful stretch,
Like a cat stretching in the morning.
This is bliss.
When you're ready,
Turn to your right with your knees bent,
All curled up in fetal position with your chin tucked in,
Taking your time to rouse yourself from this deep,
Relaxed state.
When you feel ready,
Only when you feel ready,
Use your arms to gently guide you up to a seated position,
Sitting comfortably with your eyes closed,
Connecting with the stillness from within.
Now rubbing our palms together to bring warmth to your eyes and your face,
Awakening your eyes.
Rubbing your palms again to bring warmth to your neck,
Awakening the throat.
One last time,
Rubbing the palms to bring warmth to your heart,
To your chest.
Give yourself a warm,
Loving embrace,
Opening your heart to love,
To compassion,
Kindness to yourself and to those around you,
And bring a big,
Beautiful smile to your lips,
Opening your eyes.
Thank you.
You're welcome.
