You are very very welcome here.
I know you're tired.
Well done for taking some time out for yourself to rest.
Find a comfortable position.
It doesn't matter what position you choose as long as you are comfortable.
In this practice I'd love you to have a mental rest.
So the only thing I'd invite you to consider is gently bringing your mind back to the body and breath when it wanders because we both know it will wander.
Apart from that this is your time.
Nobody needs you.
As you settle into your space and into the practice allow yourself to let go a little and feel supported by the surface you're resting on.
Letting go.
Letting go.
Gently noticing how the body feels right now and inviting rest and ease where there's tightness where you're holding on and where you can feel some tension.
It might be helpful to scan the body slowly and linger,
Stay with areas where there's tightness and say to yourself silently,
Gently and with love you're safe now.
You can let go.
You can rest.
Noticing now the in-breath and the out-breath.
Just noticing.
Perhaps in the belly,
Gentle rise and fall or at the nose or the mouth.
Noticing each in-breath and each out-breath.
We're going to spend a couple of minutes now in silence inviting and accepting rest ever so gently and when you notice your mind has drifted off bringing it back by noticing the breath or the body allowing yourself to rest.
Letting go.
Letting go.
Please remember you can't pour from an empty cup.
Rest is essential to give you the energy and resources you need for everyday life.
Let's take another couple of minutes in silence now to rest some more.
Knowing that your mind will run away and when you notice it has you can very gently bring yourself back to your body at rest with no judgement.
Just resting.
May you rest when you need it.
May you be well.
May you feel safe and at ease.
May you rest when you need it.
May you be well.
May you feel safe and at ease.
And may you be blessed.
As we prepare to bring this practice to a close once again reminding yourself that rest is not a luxury.
It's essential and you're more than welcome to return to this practice whenever you could benefit from a gently guided and supported rest.
Go gently.
