This gentle practice invites us to explore where we might be 'performing' rather than living authentically. Through mindful breath and body awareness, we compassionately examine the roles and masks we've adopted—often unconsciously—to meet societal expectations. With kindness towards ourselves, we acknowledge the universal nature of this experience whilst contemplating which scripts we might be ready to release. The meditation honours our fear of true authenticity whilst creating space for the possibility of living more genuinely, recognising that this journey requires patience and self-compassion.

In what areas of your life are you faking it?

Where are you playing a role?

No judgement We all do it because society tells us rears us to behave in certain ways wear different masks perform different roles and we're often rewarded for the masks we wear and the roles we play but as we get older and as we come to appreciate the brief glorious nature of our earthly time we might want to be more authentic we might want to be ourselves but for many of us we don't know what or who that is because we've pretended we've performed for so long we continue to recite the same scripts to play the same roles in the same way despite knowing deep inside us that we are performing that we're not connected to the roles that we don't believe the script I wonder if it's useful to spend some time exploring this together I wonder if it's useful for us to spend some time today sitting together connecting with our bodies and the breath and without any judgement starting a conversation with ourselves an honest conversation with ourselves about where we're faking it because I think that honesty in itself perhaps invites in a bit of space a sense of possibility and perhaps allows in the gentle subtle breeze of change perhaps putting down one script,

Retiring one role taking off one mask let's see,

So let's sit together find a comfortable position,

You know I don't mind what position you're in and we want to come into now,

The here and now into this moment notice the breath stay within and out of the breath for a few moments perhaps also noticing the aliveness in your body right now all sorts going on sometimes subtle sometimes more obvious what's going on in your body right now?

Just noticing connected safe ask yourself where am I faking it in my life right now?

See what comes up no judgement where are you faking it?

And you know the reasons we fake it,

The reasons we wear masks and read from scripts even with those closest to us sometimes those reasons are deep so maybe place a hand on your heart space,

A hand on your belly or a hand on your other hand and tell yourself it's okay it's okay it's okay it's okay trees have deep roots sitting for a moment with the reality of the areas in which we are false we are inauthentic sitting with the truth of that but also the kindness and grace that we're offering ourselves knowing that we all do it in different areas some of us more than others because we're rewarded because we're protecting ourselves because we don't know any other way because we're scared scared to reveal the truth scared to be who we are and that's okay sitting together with that for a moment opening to another question now asking yourself am I open am I ready to take off any of my masks am I open am I ready to be honest in any area that I've identified am I open am I ready to put down any of my scripts that feel forced,

Rehearsed fake let's sit with that are you open to change may you be well may you know that we are all faking it in some areas of our lives but may you also have the courage may you also have the courage to put some of the masks down retire some of the scripts knowing that you are safe knowing that you are enough and knowing that you are loved knowing that you are safe knowing that you are enough and knowing that you are loved and thank you so so much for practicing with me today
