Are you feeling fragile,
A bit delicate,
Possibly close to tears,
Tender,
Sensitive,
Protective,
Quite rightly?
I imagine you're doing a lot,
Juggling balls,
Spinning plates,
I imagine there's a lot going on in the world but also in your mind and in your heart and then there's the organising,
Keeping up with the pace of life,
Change,
Managing your life and the lives of others,
Always watching the clock,
It's no wonder you're feeling fragile,
Most of the time you probably feel alright,
Exercise,
Mindfulness,
Gratitude and connection,
All that good stuff,
Probably keeps your ship fairly steady,
But sometimes you feel fragile,
Sometimes we feel fragile and that's understandable,
Sometimes our minds can make it worse,
That feeling of fragility,
Sometimes our minds can fixate on an external cause,
On the person who isn't helping you,
Who isn't pulling their weight,
On the job that isn't right or that's all wrong,
On the kids or the family members or friends who just won't behave,
The bills that keep coming,
The never-ending stream of expectations,
Sometimes when you're feeling fragile your mind says that's the problem,
They're the problem and while that might be true and while you might want to explore that in good time,
For now fixating on an external cause or external causes might make you feel worse and I don't want that for you,
It will make you feel more fragile,
One thing we can do is sit together and accept our fragility,
Accept feeling delicate,
Sore and sensitive without apportioning blame or without developing a storyline,
Resting,
Getting comfortable,
Together,
Noticing the breath no effort required,
The body knows how to breathe,
Connecting with the in-breath and the out-breath connecting with the rise and the fall,
Time out,
How do you feel?
Being honest,
Gently bringing the mind back when it wanders,
To the breath,
To the body you're safe in this moment,
The brow,
Let go,
The jaw,
Move,
Open,
Soften feeling inside the shoulders,
Imagining the shoulders as ice,
As you let go to water,
As you let go to gas the belly,
Let it go,
Soften it,
Allow the legs,
Letting go,
Feeling into this moment,
Feeling the life in your legs feeling the life in your feet,
Perhaps tingling,
Coolness,
Warmth,
The feeling of your feet against the surface,
Shoes or socks feeling the feet from the inside out,
Gently calling the mind back when it starts to roam around feeling the life in your hands,
Tingling,
Points of contact,
What can you feel?
The life in your face,
The tongue against the teeth,
The lips,
This moment,
This moment allowing the following words to wash over you,
Or repeating them when i feel fragile,
I take extra care of myself,
I work to stay present and take one day at a time when i'm struggling,
I do ask for help,
When my body and mind need to rest and recharge,
I let myself rest with no judgement and i know my feelings won't last forever,
May you be well,
May you live with ease,
May your heart and mind be free may you be well,
May you live with ease,
And may your heart and mind be free thank you so much for practicing with me today
