Hi there,

I'm Kianne Ademir from Mysore Yoga Paris.

These droplets designed to support you in your practice are a collaboration between myself and sound artist Jotam Agam.

They're best experienced listening with headphones.

Resonance frequency breathing is a very simple yet powerful practice for restoring balance in our body,

Breath,

Heart and mind.

The word resonance is defined as synchronicity or harmony between elements.

It's a way of breathing where we consciously slow down our breath cycle in a way that brings the autonomic nervous system into equilibrium.

It involves relaxed diaphragmatic breathing at around five to seven breaths per minute.

This is said to be the natural breathing cycle that Tibetan monks fall into during meditative states.

So it is a wonderful way of pausing and resetting your nervous system at any time of your day.

In only a few quiet minutes this practice allows us to drop into a natural sense of equilibrium and harmony in resonance with our true selves.

This practice can be done sitting either on the floor or on a chair but resonance breathing is also wonderful to do lying down in constructive rest position,

Knees bent and feet resting evenly on your yoga mat,

Blanket or bed.

If you're sitting on a chair uncross your legs so that your feet can rest evenly on the ground.

Also scoot forward on your seat so you're not leaning against the back of your chair.

Whether you're seated on the floor or in a chair you want your spine to be tall and self-supportive as it rises up and out of your pelvis.

Relax your shoulders and soften your eyes.

You can let your gaze drop down or fully close your eyes.

Begin by feeling into the parts of your body that is in contact with the ground in relationship with earth.

Establish a simple sense of presence allowing the quality of earth to support you from underneath and within your body.

For now try to consciously lay down all mental distractions,

Worries,

Concerns,

Creating an energetic boundary,

A clear and safe space for your practice.

Feel your body breathing,

Sense the quality of your breath,

Whether your breath feels smooth or rugged,

Light or deep and just soften into the sensations of your breath whatever they are,

Cultivating kindness and compassion for yourself.

With gratitude remember that your life is supported by each breath.

Now gently begin to synchronize your breath with me knowing that you can always modify to suit your own rhythm.

So we inhale together two three four and exhale together two three four five six inhaling two three four exhaling two three four five six inhaling two three four exhaling two three four five six.

If this ratio doesn't suit you you can always adapt to something that feels more right for you.

Now continue breathing for another minute or so using sound to lightly guide your rhythm.

Now let yourself return to your natural breath and take a moment to simply rest in the space of your breath,

Calm and quiet in the heart,

Acknowledging with gratitude the benefits of your practice,

Offering its merits to all living beings.

And when you're ready you can open your eyes and gently come back to the room noticing if there is perhaps a little more spaciousness inside to bring into your day.

Thank you for your practice.

First go at resonance breathing, and I really enjoyed it, and my watch let me know I was in a restful state after I finished, which feels lovely right now, thankyou 🙌🏼✨
