This meditation invites us to cast our anchor in our Belly Centre (Hara). Across both Eastern and Western wisdom traditions, this domain is recognised as our main spring of embodied wisdom. Without a clear connection to this home-ground, our Heart-Mind can feel fragile, scattered, and ill-equipped to steward the world it inhabits. From this inner ground of body intelligence, we explore our deeper aspirations and cultivate intentionality as we move forward – allowing a tender, undefended heart to open naturally to the world. (This is a live recording from Kia's In-Depth Training in Paris). With Love and Blessings for this New Year, /Kia & Yotam

Hi there,

I'm Kianne Ademir from Mysore Yoga Paris.

These droplets designed to support you in your practice are a collaboration between myself and sound artist Jotham Agam.

They're best experienced listening with headphones.

So you might want to begin by simply offering yourselves a few deeper breaths.

Just arrive here,

In your body.

Allowing each out breath,

Let the body release into the ground.

Feeling into your relationship with Earth.

The parts of your body that is in contact with the ground.

Feel into what that relationship is like this morning.

Are you able to fully give your weight to the ground?

And in gratitude appreciating this Earth and this precious breath of life given to us this morning.

Internally bowing for the privilege of having this seat this morning.

And let your awareness drop down into your belly center.

Your listening center.

The seat of your original life force.

Without a connection to this inner domain.

We're much more likely to abandon the wisdom of our body.

To unground.

Neglecting our stewardship of this world.

Take a moment to fully drop your awareness into your belly.

The deep navel center.

Halfway between the front and the back of the body.

Halfway between the navel and the pubic bone.

And you might explore tipping this center slightly forward for a few moments.

Tipping the center forward and notice what happens to your heart.

To your breath.

To the state of your mind.

Forward of the belly center.

Now instead roll slightly back so you end up behind the belly center.

And take a moment to notice the response in your heart.

The feeling of your breath.

And the quality of mind when you tip behind the belly center.

Now gently begin to sway back and forth between these two positions.

And then make that movement more and more subtle.

Until you feel that you fully center yourself over your navel.

To be fully present.

Aligned with gravity.

Aligned with this home ground of your body.

Notice the felt sense of your heart space.

How it might be supported by the belly.

How the head might be able to float.

Aligned with the heart.

Supported by the belly.

Feeling the spaciousness of breath.

No need to manipulate the breath in any particular way.

Simply allow the body to be breathed.

Rather than observing the breath from the outside.

Place your awareness inside your breath.

And feel the breath.

Let that bring you to your motivation for taking your seat this morning.

Your deeper intention for practicing.

Let that intention rise up from the belly into your heart.

And whatever your personal motivation is for practice.

How would it feel to broaden that?

Could you allow any positive energy arising from your practice?

Could you allow it to ripple out into your larger sphere?

The Mahayana path reflects on that larger benefit.

How to serve all beings.

Take a moment to reflect on that.

How the benefits of your practice could spread into your larger world.

Let that motivation bring you back to the belly.

Feeling the breath in the belly.

And as you draw your practice to a close.

You might silently in your own mind.

Choose to dedicate your merits.

A positive effect from your practice.

To someone or to all living being.

Take a few moments.

If you like,

You can bring your palms together.

Bowing your head to your heart.

Thank you for your practice.

Namaste.
