So happiness is the primary goal of the mindfulness.
So to optimize our happiness,
We need to cultivate the feeling of feeling good,
The feeling of joy.
And there are two skills that are important to have to achieve the feeling of joy.
So first is to place our attention to where our joy is,
Or we think our joy is there.
And second is to really focus on that intention and allow that joy just to grow and feel it.
So joy can be actually accessible to us at any moment.
We can find joy everywhere and anytime if we just focus on that joy.
It's like a switch.
You can turn it on and you can turn it off.
You can even show it with our smile or our laugh.
That is a joy.
We can do it as often as we like or we can decide not to do it at all.
So let's settle comfortably,
Settling in our position for our meditation.
And just sit upright position,
Whether it's on a chair or whether you're crossing your leg and your hands are resting on your thigh.
Now your eyes could be closed or could be soft,
Open,
Soft gaze,
And you're looking through something and not at it.
So let's think of a joyful experience in our meditation today.
It could be as big as having a child,
A birth,
Giving birth to a child,
Or it could be as little as just walking nature that bring you joy,
Happiness.
So let's think about different areas that we can give us joy and happiness.
Listen to our thinking of a friend,
A friend that give you joy.
When you talk to that friend,
Whether face to face,
Whether over the phone,
Whatever way you talk,
Communicate to that friend and bring you joy and you feel joy inside you.
You feel joy.
Now let's think of family.
Family?
Who is in the family,
In your family that give you joy?
It could be even your grandparents,
Or could be just anyone in your family or your own child if you have.
So who bring you joy in your family that you feel joy?
Let's go to another place,
To the nature.
It might be a specific season that you feel joy.
When you just know that season is coming,
You feel happy and joyful.
For example,
Right now we have spring,
And some people like the feeling of just having a new beginning of everything,
And bring them joy.
The joy of looking at the flower,
And you feel happy.
The joy of just the sunshine as you're walking and seeing everything booming,
And you're feeling the freshness,
And coming with the spring season,
It might give you joy,
And you feel joy.
Or it could be even the clouds if you look in the sky and you see them moving,
Making different shapes,
And you feel joy.
Or you're looking at the trees and you see the movement of the leaves as the wind is blowing gently,
Touching the surface of the leaves,
And it's almost feeling like they're waving at you as you're walking and viewing that.
That is joy,
And you feel joy.
Or it could be the fresh air that's touching your face,
Give you this beautiful freshness,
And you feel joy and happy,
And you feel joy.
Or it could be some of your favorite food.
What is your favorite food that gives you joy?
And when you just see it,
Or have it,
Or you're eating it,
And you feel happy,
You feel joyful.
Think of that and feel joy.
Or it could be a fruit,
A nice fresh fruit,
And it could even be a nice tasty soup.
As you're eating,
You feel joy.
Think of that and feel joy.
Another domain could be movement.
Perhaps you are one of those people like movement,
Walking,
Dancing,
Or even doing yoga that cultivate a beautiful feeling of joy and happiness.
Think of what you like,
Normally do that,
Whether it's walking or dancing or doing yoga,
And you're feeling joy.
Feel joy.
Or it could be simply by smiling or even laughing,
That also bring you joy.
See if you can just smile and feel happy and joy.
Now that we are in pandemic and many things are out of our control,
Focusing on a little movement or thing that give us joy in every day,
In every moment,
Will make us feel good and happy.
Let's just continue silently meditating and having that feeling of joy throughout the body.
You can focus on any of these places that we went through and talk about joy and concentrate on that feeling of that place that's bring you happiness and joy.
Let's remember to find time to bring your attention and intention to your joyful things that makes you happy and joyful in your day.
Thank you so much for practicing and feeling the joy in your heart,
In your mind.
Have an amazing day.
Namaste.
