Yoga Nidra is also known as psychic or yogic sleep. In this practice, a blissful state of awareness is achieved where tension, stress and the resultant blocked energy are released. This practice induces alpha-level brain waves where one is able to influence the subconscious mind in order to manifest one's goals. The essential feature is the sankalpa / resolve / positive affirmation. This personal goal is programmed into the subconscious mind, where Yoga Nidra lends itself as an essential tool for complete rejuvenation and manifestation.

Laying down in a comfortable position,

Place the arms next to the body,

Palms facing the ceiling,

Tucking the shoulders under and allowing the feet to fall up,

Eyes closing down,

Relax the forehead,

Let the eyes roll back,

The tongue is heavy on the floor of the mouth,

Feel the in-breath and the out-breath.

Before we begin the Nidra,

Take a moment to set your intention,

Your sun-faba,

A very short precise statement about something you would like to achieve.

This doesn't affect anyone else's free will.

Follow the urge to stretch if it arises.

I left a review 3 years ago and wanted to update that I listen to this at least three times a week, when I need a pick me up nap or just want to reset mine brain. It was one of the first yoga nidras I did. I was confused by the visual phrases that repeated. I love them now because they relax me, and I know exactly how much time I have left. But sometimes I wake up at the end and miss them. I wish I knew the actual name of the person who narrated it. This is still five stars for me! Maybe I'll give an update a review in another 3 years! Also I listen to the 20-minute version quite a bit when I have time for longer relaxation.

I love the blend of setting a clear intention and then surrendering to complete relaxation. Namaste πŸ™

Very unusual yoga nidra. The focus on the body is short, and basically ignores the face, which is frustrating. She then focuses on hot/cold/light/heavy briefly. She then has you imagine specific objects, animals, and sky. I was thinking it’s not my favorite, but then I noticed I am profoundly relaxed afterwards. The music really enhances the meditation.
