The next technique is called equal breathing.
Now this tool can be done anywhere and anytime and I love the simplicity of it.
It's called equal because it's an equal in-breath and an equal out-breath.
And you start with what is comfortable for you.
This technique can help balance your body and mind very quickly.
To start just inhale for a count of four and then exhale for a count of four.
This is all through the nose.
This adds a natural resistance to your breath.
So we want to use the natural humidifier,
Nature's humidifier,
Which is our nose.
Breathing in and breathing out,
Keeping the lips gently closed.
So again,
Breathing in for four and breathing out for four.
I invite you to breathe in for six if you can.
And always extending your comfort zone just that little bit.
You can aim for eight.
A full eight counts in and eight out.
And slowly when you're ready,
You can keep adding another count.
You can focus your mind on something that's inspiring or something that calms your mind.
Bliss or peace or calming my nervous system or increasing focus.
Any time the mind has a focus is wonderful while doing some of these breath techniques.
For all of the energy that you breathe in and breathe out has a direction and an intention.
So I'm a big fan of setting one.
You can press pause and play with that technique for a few moments.
